Anyone have the clip of the pre-season presser where players and Berry talked about “tired of hanging white banners, time to hang a green banner” ( or words along that line). That might be my biggest frustration of the season. A public statement by the HC, and some already knowing that there was internal issues before season even started. Hence, the season we have witnessed.

My point is, Berry so far removed from what actually goes on inside the lockeroom, that he had notion this team was a National contender.

This clip needs to be sent to ADs office for replay and serious reflection needed as to how to move this thing forward. Preferably with a new HC.

A lot of people on this board thought UND could be a contender.  What is the direct evidence that there were locker room issues before the season began?

Ex Sioux player , Smaby, outside the family Raboin.

I still don’t think that guys like Raboin or Mayotte would just up and leave their programs for UND right now. They have good things going and money to work with (no it’s not as much money as UND, I got it). They are building well with the resources they have, building relationships, creating culture (yeah, I said it :p) and planting roots. Just because UND has more money, exposure, and history doesn’t mean we are an automatic drop-everything-and-leave destination.

Don’t  get me wrong, it would be great if we snag a solid coach that already has D1 head coaching experience and I will happily eat a ton of crow if they come here. But I just don’t see it happening.

That being said, I don’t know who the outside the family hire would be but inside the family I like Nick Fohr or Smaby.

If one wants to climb the ranks in college hockey & perhaps coach someday at a higher level, UND would be a very sensible segue for someone already coaching at a mid-major. Already mentioned this, but it's akin to, say, an aspiring fb coach at Vanderbilt being offered a hc position at Ohio St or Alabama.

Herter also would be a logical choice. He has that magical touch with developing & getting the most out of his d-men at tournament time.

It depends on how much more money UND would offer them. If it's significant, I think they would take it.

Huh? I thought they would be a contender. They’ve seriously underperformed this year…even with the injuries.

DU is a bit of a mystery in the same way BU is.  Big time talent prone to occasional puzzling letdown, especially on D.  Hockey purists here probably have a simple hockey explanation

DU has been mediocre since their 12-0 start. They have been a little over .500 since. No idea why.

They'd still probably sweep us in the playoffs though...

The injuries were tough but they were playing like crap starting with the Augustana game.  Totally unprepared at the start of the season and that is biting them hard now.  They are painful to watch.

I have heard that Herter does not really want to be a head coach again.
