MinnDak Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Everyone thinks loss to NDSU was ok and the glaring issues aren’t addressed. Win the next game all is well. This game is evidence why you don’t make excuses and get better. I was so shocked to see a QB run on us and have success, never seen that before. If you don’t put pressure on the ball the entire defense is screwed. We rush maybe one player and contain none. Keep rocking the 3-4. I’m not sure I’ve seen a single adjustment on offense or defense in 3 years. Quote

Kab Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 UND should drop at least 10 spots on the polls really not deserving of being a playoff team Quote
UND1983 Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Would rather have us miss playoffs in embarrassing fashion, instead of letting the country club pat themselves on the back for another playoff appearance (and first round failure) Quote

UND Football Fan Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 I remember hearing about Marv Levy while coaching at Kansas City he ran Wing T and ran the football a lot to limit possessions because their D was bad. We have been ball control up to Freund. Current OC looks to be doing this, but unlike Danny taking more deep shots. This strategy has been going on for probably over a decade. One would think we need new body types and speed on defense. With portal I was hoping we bring in more body types to compete and go deep in the playoffs. Montana brought in a ton and made it to the title game and had one of the top defenses. I am not saying we need to do the same but D-Line something needs to be done. So far, for the most part especially on DL where little has been done. 3-4 or 4-3 or 4-2 if you don’t have the dudes to occupy the OL and speedy linebackers/safeties to clean up or spy and kill QB. The defense has no chance. Maybe in Big Sky where it is pass happy we have the ok body types but for the Valley especially top tier and discovered yesterday the lower tier, we do not right now. Quote
fightingsioux4life Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 At least Chaves doesn't have a reason to give Bubba another unearned extension. Quote

The agility and tackling in space was a nightmare last game. Especially that TD run before half. An absolute clinic on taking bad angles. 2 Quote
gundy1124 Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Will there be a huge influx of portal players after this season with FBS rosters to be limited to 105 players? I read about Texas and OU averaging around 120 players while Bama at one point had 137. Gophers sitting at 120.......to be cut down to 105, closer to home. Point is.....we need better players on D and this is a unique time with FBS roster size changes next season. Quote
gundy1124 Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Winning percent chances down the home stretch. We look nothing like the Jacks or Yotes......will have to play out of our minds at Home in those. Bubba's road record speaks for itself. @ Indiana St - 50% Jacks - 20% Yotes - 20% @ Ill State - 50% 3 Quote
Longtime fan Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 I would have to guess by now even the hardiest Bubba loyalists have ran out ways to defend him? Bubba “peaked” 8 years ago. The 2015 and 2016 were the best teams under his watch. 16-7 overall record and actually won a few road games. There were plenty of head coaching blunders those two years but he was “new” so opposing coaches didn’t know at the time of how repetitive and incompetent he really was / is. They get it now. His best two teams had zero playoff wins. That has stayed true from day one. UND might be playoff bound this year? Thats only because the FCS is a watered down division that has to stitch together 24 teams to make a playoff bracket. But rest assured ! Bubba will bubba and find the best way possible not to win. Is there a more frustrating rinse and repeat program in the nation ? 3 Quote

My gut tells me the rebound on Saturday then they get whacked vs the SD schools at home then have a road game to get to 7 wins but lose to finish 6-6. No way they win their final 2 road games. Quote
