I remember that.  Many were not excited about our new OC and OL coaches.  Coaching DII.

My problem with the Whole situation and it still bothers me is who we lost them to.  Both were lateral moves to other FCS teams.  On top of that we lost the first OC we hired to another FCS team.  Embarrassing for the program.

But look where we are now.  Just saying it looked bleak in January and February.  Not so much now.

I’ll raise my hand. I was concerned, and I think justifiably so given the unknown replacements, but so far Fruechte and Olson have far exceeded expectations. With all that said, the schedule finally gets tougher now. Road games and top dogs in the conference are up ahead … UND needs to show they’ve found solutions for their road woes or else it’ll be same ol’ same ol’ 7-5 ball club.

I too was concerned. I do think even the most pessimistic outlook likely had us 3-2 leaving September. Some may have had 2-3 I guess with Idaho State but most would have agreed 3-2.

I am excited about where we are though. A lot of good opportunities coming up to prove we are real.

Will this be the week that all the FCS basement broadcasters have to talk about what is happening with the UND football team? Some will do it begrudgingly, others will move the goalposts.

FCS fans nation guys said we played Wisconsin so they are on top of things

Other than the Bison game, none of the road games are ones I would consider to be a loss from the get go.  If they are 7-5 after starting 4-1, that would be a huge collapse, IMO.  Need to see minimum 8-4, and even that is a little underwhelming.

Changing the subject, didn't Midco's lastest deal with UND require football broadcasts of all away games?  Indiana State and Illinois State are listed as ESPN+ - no Midco.

Those games are MVFC "games of the week", and as such, they are exclusive to ESPN+ only.  Midco CANT produce/broadcast those games.  Instead the league pays a company to do it for ESPN+.

Fall 2024 MVFC "Game of the Week" Selections for ESPN+
Sept. 28 -- Youngstown State at Missouri State
Oct. 5 -- South Dakota at Murray State
Oct. 5 – SDSU at UNI
Oct. 12 – NDSU at Southern Illinois
Oct. 26 -- Southern Illinois at Indiana State
Nov. 2 -- North Dakota at Indiana State
Nov. 16 -- UNI at Youngstown State
Nov. 23 -- North Dakota at Illinois State

THanks so much, nodak.  I also found this on the Midco deal: "Midco Sports will broadcast most conference road games for the football program"  key word MOST

Are we getting this

Or Jake the Milkman Milliman.  Historically it's been the Milkman on the road.

Agreed.  Different if Danny went FBS as a vertical move and didn't take a starting O-line plus tried taking Jerry with him.

That said, our schedule gets a "little" tougher here on out.

Any details you can add on him trying to poach Jerry? Guessing not but had to ask.

Simon moving up the line.  Now #59 Mark Gronowski is #64.  Who would have guessed that in the start of the season.

59 Simon Romfo north-dakota.svgNorth Dakota Jr. QB 5 125 67 5 940 7

127.25

I see what you're trying to do here.

Just the facts.  Just the facts

Fine but to insinuate a kid that arguably throws one of the most inaccurate balls in the past 2+ decades of UND FB is better than Gronowski this season based on numbers is absolutely absurd.

He has thrown some deep balls for TDs.  It early and he is learning.

ok, but 67 completions in 125 attempts (54%] vs 90 for 115 (78%)

hit a couple big ones to skew the yards per completion.

7.5 yds per attempt (Romfo) vs 9.9 yds per attempt (Miller)

still not bad for Romfo

Numbers can be skewed in any direction.

In the last 2 games taking out the 4 long TD passes to Bo Simon is....10 for 29 for 201 yards.

If he can hit on a couple of long (45+ yards) TDs passes to Bo UND will have a shot.
