DE Lucas Schweigert, Bismarck

DE Kelby Azure, Northwood  Earlier offer

DE Austin Altepeter, Moorhead  Earlier offer

RB Max Grand, WI

RB Ty Strehlow, WI

WR Carson Hegerle, West Fargo  Earlier offer

OG Michael Capria, MO  We offered last night

WR Sam Peiffer, WI

There were at least two kickers.

We should learn more in the next couple of days.  A commitments or two would be great!!

My wish list:

RB - Gilman or Johnson

WR - Hegerle & Parrish

DE - Azure & Teiken

LB - Altepeter & Larson

Landing even half of these guys would be phenomenal. Glad to see us targeting high end talent. Hopefully these kids see the direction of the program and want to come contribute. It would be nice to see us balance out regional recruiting against some of the Dakota schools.

Emphasizing Larson & Altepeter. Luna Larson would be my #1 coveted prospective recruit. He was just offered by Buffalo yesterday, adding to the double digit offers he has. Hope the family ties to UND wins out. I would add Lucas Schweigert to the wish list.

Would be interesting if we got Hegerle since his dad played for NDSU.  Unfortunately his dad tracked down and prevented a game winning/tieing TD in the '91 game in Fargo on a 4th down with less than a minute to play, he had some speed.  Graduated HS with his mom, she was a track star in HS and great gymnast.

Hegerly play in '91:

I bet he wanted to play QB and UND is too stacked at that position. He had some lower level D1 offers.

Regarding being stacked at QB - quite the turn around from just a few years ago.

Still hope we have a decent target at QB. Never know when someone will get injured or when a kid may enter the transfer portal. It is pretty easy to lose your depth quickly these days.

What a difference a year makes!!  We had our 7th commitment by June 12th last year.  With no camps or campus visits last summer, most kids made their decisions earlier than normal.  We shouldn't be concerned as it appears there hasn't been a lot of FCS verbals yet.
