I've said before my biggest hang-up with Trump is nepotism.

Family and business don't mix well.

it's been stated that the deep state is soooo deep that he has to keep family around him bc they might be the only ones he can trust...remember jfk had rfk as his wing man AG

Could always be worse, she could be living in Portland.

If you live in Boise, Colorado Springs, Tuscon, I'll give you that you live somewhere better. Maybe a few others, none of which are likely to include wherever you're at. Portland's best years are behind it, having "arrived" as a destination. But the only people affected by the protests/riots are literally ivory tower liberals living in high rises in the Pearl or South waterfront.

Sort of depressing that people ruin good places, I dont know much about Oregon, my friend who lives in Eugene seems to like it.

Only?

If there's a riot outside someone's house they're inside in fear.
No one should be in fear inside their home.

Get used to it. It's not like this hasn't happened in our lifetimes. Did you feel that way when Koreatown got destroyed in the 90s? Race riots were a staple of the Midwest in my parents' childhood. But hey, my 401k is up!

All small business owners in downtown Portland live in ivory towers?  Huh, news to me.

Plenty of people won’t step foot in Portland because of the nightly protests.  This is likely compounding small (and large) business throughout the city but it’s only affecting the rich narrative seems to work well for D’s.

I feel for the folks grinding it out in the food carts that lost their clientele to the pandemic, believe me. Hopefully rent contracts were renegotiated.

You know Ivanka is Trump's daughter, right?

But I guess if you don't tell, Trump won't either.

Ivana Ivanka....I had a Biden moment and got turned around.

In all fairness to Kamela Harris, she's just following the path that many have "laid" before her.

So honest question would be what ruined Portland?  Is it the idea that once most any town grows big enough, there will be enough sh*theads part of that growth for them to reach critical mass and implode the town?  Is just letting this liberal slide occur the only solution?

Portland's problem is wages are way behind cost of living, meaning career-wise most people make some sort of sacrifice to be here. Lots of frustrated people that tell others back home they are "living the dream". I could get twice as much home in Minneapolis with wages being similar, possibly better in MSP.

Edit: I didn't really answer the liberal slide. My belief is the more people you have in an area, the more organization you need. Keep an honest check on government overreach, but I also love riding a train to work. Hopefully that doesn't make me a *gasp* socialist!

8 LTC facilities in ND have double digit residents that are positive.  Minot has one with 56. Thought quarantine,  isolation and masks are the ticket?

Riding the train in and of itself does not make you a socialist.  If you do it while wearing skinny jeans and designer glasses (even though you don't actually need glasses to see) then that does make you a socialist.

What if this virus is just a killer, as in no matter what we do, its going to kill off the extreamly vulnerable portion of society, until humanity develops effective vaccines humans develop herd immunity.

Would the answer be to just stay in our caves until it eventually finds us?

Or is it to live life to the fullest we can and have faith in science, evolution, God or whatever that humanity will adapt?

Seems like more should be studied about the areas of earth that this things is not decimating..... or moreso not testing.
