As long as they make the decision before December 9th, I think we'll be okay.

Same thing only different. :)

Bemidji Football tweeted out that big news coming soon.

Are they getting a new mascot costume, a big brown beaver? No, wait, that's Winona, no, Wynona.  ;)

Since the "big news" it's been conference/honors/award tweets.

If you were a Bemidji fan, would you consider it exciting if you lost your coach?

Losing their coach would not be considered “exciting”, would it?

Good stuff. Clearly, it wasn’t about their head coach leaving. It was about players earning end of the year accolades.

Can’t imagine losing your head coach is considered exciting but who knows …

Maybe Bolte leveraged the situation into a contract extension for himself at Bemidji State…

That sounds far more likely.

First, transparency is a good thing.  Second, the AD is in charge of secession planning for all athletic programs.  If you take a step back and look at the last year of UND football from an organizational management standpoint.  It has been a complete cluster.  I don't see one aspect of it that has been handled appropriately.  So, I think it is OK to question what is going on.  As far as the power of social media, I think the single most damming thing for Bubba was the image posted on social media.  If you track number of people and comments before and after that picture being posted.  It was an inflection point for the entire discussion the tone changed overnight.

Last point, UND athletes is not self-sustaining.  Approximately 50% of funding is coming from a publicly funded school.  Many of the recent football improvements have leveraged public and private dollars.  I believe TIF dollars has driven a fair share of the recent improvements.  IMO, releasing names of three finalists is not that large of ask when they maybe one of the highest paid public employees in the State.  It comes with the territory.

I don't disagree with any of your points.  My issue with the original post of holding the AD accountable is the thought that we as people who post on a fan forum have any say in keeping an AD accountable.  I guess if we flood the president with emails and correspondence of our disapproval, that may move the needle a little bit, but most likely not.  It's the job of the president to hold the AD accountable, not ours....

Consistent with my first response.  Let him do the job he was hired to do.  We don't, and most likely won't know who all applied unless you have a personal relationship with a candidate and they've shared that information with you. Of those who did apply, we may or may not find out who the top candidates were, and you will most likely never know how they interviewed or the vision they shared with the committee.  So regardless of the general consensus of who this board thinks is the best candidate, maybe they botched the interview, shared delusions of grandeur as to their plans if hired, or weren't interested in leaving their current job for this one in the first place.

Again, I don't disagree with you with the points you make, but there are a lot of factors in play here.  Once a hire is made, support them and the program as we always do and hope that this is a positive turning point in the history of the program.

The Amtrack is the way if you're trying to be covert, like sneak into GFK, or stealing the frozen concentrated orange juice report*. ;)

*bonus for the reference in December to a movie that takes place at Christmas time

Thought they handled the OC fiasco well. The Montana game event went well. But I've been told I wear Keely Green glasses.

The leaks should start in about six hours.

I already broke the story last night.  Don’t blame the messenger, I’m just reading the tea leaves with gfhockey.

I just posted the tweet. I didn't comment on it. And I wasn't even the first poster to bring it up.

But since you asked the question, losing your coach to an FCS program is a testament to the recent unprecedented success of Bemidji State football. Kind of like NDSU losing coaches to FBS programs.

I do think Bolte will end up on the short list, FWIW.

Someone stake out Harry's. I assume gfhockey's tab is still open.

Doesn’t open till 4. But if we are talking tracking amtraks no chance they would be at Harry’s. Someone get to the speedway!
