Mama Sue Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 What will be, will be. So do I have this right.... our next opponent, No. Colorado, is like 0 for 4???? If we can’t totally dominate this team, two issues: 1) we’re screwed, and 2) changes are needed (not sure what). Quote

We won’t blow them out unless something really changes with our team. They have a really good qb. Quote

Attended a few a practices and he definitely has the look and ability just a tad underweight. Has great feet and positioning. With it sounding like zeke will be out (damnit.....damnit!) I think Jaelen will get some time. Not sure if the coaches will pull his shirt ....maybe play him the four games and keep him shirted ? Regardless...the kid has talent. Jaelen Johnson hasn't gained any wait in almost 2 years, and needs to gain 30 to 40 lbs fast if he's going to play NG. He hasn't won a 1 on one yet this year, much less being able to take on double teams. He was getting pushed back 5 yards consistently against IDS on one on ones. He does have good feet, but coaches have him playing the wrong position. Quote

I watched a couple of our guys getting knocked off the ball while taking on double teams when IDS was gashing us up the gut on running plays. Why don't our guys drop to their knees to neutralize the double team? You do that or get skinny and take on one of the blockers, not try to take on both of them and get put on roller skates. Just wondering. Quote
Old School Guy Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 And can someone please explain why Deion is out there in man coverage with no help over the top. Nice kid, athletic kid but he ain't Deion Sanders. IDS was licking their chops on that last TD drive the minute they saw Deion in press coverage with no help. Do we have a nickle or dime package?? Just wondering. Quote

Also Morrison hasn’t gained weight because he had an injury. And to say 2 years is blatantly false it hasn’t even been 1.5 years. I sense the anxt of a player relative in that post. Quote
Popular Post Siouxperfan7 Posted September 25, 2018 Popular Post Posted September 25, 2018 Amazing how fast things can change for a team in a season. Last week we were 2-1 coming off a huge upset win of a top 5 team on the road. This week, UND is currently 3 point dogs to 0-4 Northern Colorado. 5 Quote

What the last two weeks really shows everyone is not to overreact either way. It's too early in the season and at 2-2 it's far from over. I've said it before, but this isn't a bad team at all, lets see how this plays out. Quote

UND-FB-FAN Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 This will end up a limbo year pushing UND on towards extended mediocrity. 6-5, no playoffs some happy because UND improved from 2017 and had a winning record some upset and angry because UND missed playoffs all depends what your expectations are, and those are all over the place on this website Quote
Irish Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Heraldo Sports headlines :LOOKING FOR ANSWERS - "Scoring three times more in the first half than the second, UND Football eyeing changes" According to Bubba "We've talked to our team about it and talked to the Captains". ..... "Changes may be as simple as how we warm up for the half." (this seems to be the end of the discussion on changes) - Talking to the Captains is good, but how about, I don't know, TALKING TO YOUR COACHES. We have plain and simply been out coached and out adjusted every game - especially when we have the ball. Unless Bubba and company take a long, hard look at what they are doing (and no, it's not the calisthenics) it will be a frustrating season. This shouldn't be rocket science. I hope there was a lot more unsaid that Bubba plans because he and his crew are looking like inflexible Jr. High coaches when it comes to in-game changes. 1 Quote
UND1983 Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 "This recent trend of the UND offense coming out hot and running all over teams only to be completely shut down in the second half is concerning. It tells us that defensive coordinators are figuring it out at halftime but there is no ensuing cat/mouse game. The UND offense isn’t adjusting with a new look or plan. 21 points in the first half. 0 in the second half." https://undfootball360.com/news/time-to-regroup/ 3 Quote
