2016-2017 Season

Its never too early to start the discussion of next year.

Provided no serious defections from the team, the 2016-17 squad will have some big expectations and a very talented team on paper.  Consider this potential

-UND will bring back all 5 starters from last year

-UND will bring back their 3 key bench pieces

-They will add Baker into their already deep and talented frontcourt

-If Cashman gets back to playing, the Center position gets shored up a little.

UND will probably open in a top 4 position in the preseason Big Sky polls.  It will be a battle between UND, Idaho, Weber, and Montana for the Big Sky crown next year.

I'm not quite sure on the scheduling practices of the Big Sky, but this could be the year we only get the Montanas once and Idaho/EWU once.

My way too early prediction of a starting lineup

Geno

Hooker

Seales

Drick

Shanks

Any talk on what next years schedule looks like, besides playing in Fargo, possibly at their new arena. I hope they can get more Summit teams like South Dakota SDSU, Omaha and Denver. Dump the DII's and get some DI teams in. Its sad to get a respectable team like UNI in they have to do a 3 in 1 type series but since we are small fish in the eyes of the CBB world I guess that will be the norm.

UNI isn't just respectable.  They are a pretty big deal the past several years.  I'd be very happy to see them on any schedule.

Wish him the best but he knows more than we do what Wheeler Baker will bring next year. It was fun to watch him and loved that he had the number 3, but he was pretty specialized. Not seeing how you can spin this into it being Jones's fault but some will try.

Adam McLeaving - .189 3pt attempts per minute -- 11.34 attempts per 60

Wheeler Baker - .223 3pt attempts per minute -- 13.38 attempts per 60

Looks like Baker may be better at getting open for threes, although his percentage is 37.6% compared to McLeaving at 40.9%.  He could just take more contested shots, though.

Probably not big on playing the 3, Baker probably slightly ahead of him at the 2...that being said he was getting serious minutes as a frosh ..Not a good bet to get more PT at UNI. a top notch  Mo. Valley team... That along with Drake did not offer him.. Doubt if he will have much too chose from at the D1 level unless he starts as a PWO......Maybe Augustana

So that opens one schollie correct? Go get Amar Miller coach. Kid is good. I know we are already very deep in the guard area but I want him on our team.

Like to pick up a 3 rather than playing a guard there...or if they are really lucky a 5 who is ready.  Riley Dearing is a MPLS. kid who left Wisc and maybe looking to drop in class. With the ability to offer full cost of attendance I would expect a solid pick up

I think he transferred to CS-Fullerton.
