Oxbow6
Pretty sure I will never own anything like that. If the logo is really good.........maybe.
UND1983
I like it. Start out with the text version and move on to the logo. Simple and clean. 2

darell1976
I like it, anything that says University of North Dakot on it is good, now add a nickname and it got better. A new logo will make it complete. 2
hky
Nope. I won't be spending any of my hard earned money on that.

That font is no good. My guess is that that font won't be connected to the official logo. Just random letters slapped on to get a couple shirts sold. Color me optimistic, but I am looking forward to see what they come up with for a new logo. Although I am nervous of it being horrendously generic, I think it does have a lot of potential.

siouxfan512
It just seem fake when you see it. Like it really is some cruel joke. Oh well, glad I still have my Sioux gear. I hope the new logo is legit and not just something generic. Then again, I was hoping the new nickname was going to be something legit and not just something generic.

"Cool" or not, I think that shirt looks terrible. It's a font thing, not a name thing. You seem to have left out the line directly following saying that I am hopeful for a new logo looking good. 20 minutes ago, jdub27 said: Don't feel bad, I bought a shirt from a different vendor already. It may be an easy transition for you, but for others, it is not.
siouxfan512
Fine Fine Fine .... I'll try to be positive about this new nickname thing .... Guy puts a gun to my head and says, "Put on a Fighting Hawk shirt or a Gopher hockey jersey" ..... I guess I'll bite the bullet and put on the Fighting Hawk shirt. Will that appease some of you

I mean people literally compared it to the death of a loved one among some other analogies that I'm not going to bother repeating. I never it said it was an easy transition, I personally have an unhealthy amount of the things in my house with the Brien logo (and older ones) proudly displayed. However pretending the new nickname and logo doesn't exist isn't going to change the reality of the situation. 8
Popular Post Kermit's Luck
Boy am I glad I have 25 years (minimum) of Sioux gear left to wear! And a seamstress wife that can repurpose the stiched-on logos from old hoodies and so forth. And to think I thought my parents were crazy for getting me 3-5 Sioux items every Christmas for the last 5 years... On message boards, you can say "Hockey-only" "Head in the Sand", whatever you want. At the Frozen Four, I'll be representing the UND that I grew up with, graduated from, and proudly support. For that process to end with the most generic name possible - the logo likely won't matter for me. Hopefully it's something cool that the students can rally around (at least the ones raised in a non-Sioux household, poor bastards), and keep all of our athletes from OR, TX, and so forth happy. Save your money for tickets to Tampa - don't buy that crap! GO SIOUX!!!

Pretending it doesn't exist and not buying a shirt with a new name on it are completely different ideas. Despite having full understanding that this name is going nowhere, I still think that shirt looks like garbage and won't buy it. Looks like something they just slapped together for Christmas to make some extra money. Not a good first impression, for me.

I didn't mean directly at you for that part, just part of the overall message because there are those that are operating that way. I do agree with you, I'm not a huge fan of that shirt either, but it is exactly the same as some of the Fighting Sioux ones I've seen before with precisely one word changed. I actually wouldn't be surprised if it actually was the same design as some previously printed stuff. In their defense, there really isn't a whole lot to work with right now with no logo but it would be a terrible business decision to not at least have something out to sell now that a new name has been chosen.

The Sicatoka
C'mon man ... why the block font? If you're going to spell out F'n Hawks why not us the official UND Athletics font. The words "North Dakota" at the top of http://undsports.com/ are in that font.

Glad it's not ours! But seriously, it is just a generic shirt for now with likely an old design and just the name replaced. I wouldn't call it cheap? Just your basic $10-15 T-shirt. Myself, I won't likely buy anything with the new logo or name on it but will continue to buy UND merchandise unless the logo is a 600 foot homerun. If people want to buy the new name and logo that is great, I graduated a Fighting Sioux from UND so that is what I will continue to represent. The people who buy the crap from the "parody" companies are the people who should be beat with a stick. UND needs to quash that crap and do it soon.
