Yeah, it started in 2011 when they traded Brent Burns for Coyle and Setoguchi. The Nick Leddy for Cam Barker in 2010 was a real stinker too. So after this season, they still have FIVE full seasons of the Parise (35) and Sutter(34) contracts. Ouch!

Will that clear out $20 million in cap space for a retrofit? The only "out" of this for the Wild is a buy-out or two or three, or ... They need to be calling the cap space teams and doing a trade, for example: Suter, a 2021 second round pick, and Wild retain half of Suter's salary for a used puck bag and a coach's whistle missing the pea*. *If you want the whistle with the pea that's a 2021 first round pick (instead of the second round pick).
The Sicatoka
Even this CapFriendly sheet isn't as ugly as Minnesota's, and this one ain't pretty when you look at it.

HockeyFan31
Barring a minor miracle I think we can fill in Bruce's fate as fired as well. Not his fault, but GMs like to bring in "their coach".
Oxbow6
The issue isn't the coach it's the roster. Name one player that would crack the top 6 in the Caps line-up.

Popular Post Siouxperfan7
As long as Parise and Suter are still on roster sucking up cap money, this will be the status quo for the Wild no matter who the coach is.
sioux rube
After the Devils tied the game on two occasions, Ryan Suter (1-1—2) registered the go-ahead goal in the third period and 23-year-old Kaapo Kahkonen (32 saves) earned his first NHL win to help the Wild extend their point streak to seven games (4-0-3). * Kahkonen appeared in his first NHL game after posting a 7-2-1 record with the American Hockey League’s Iowa Wild this season (2.47 GAA, .909 SV%, 2 SO). Matt Hackett (34 saves on Dec. 6, 2011) is the only other goaltender in franchise history to win in his NHL debut after making 30 or more saves. * The 2019-20 season marked the second time in as many campaigns that Minnesota has strung together a point streak of at least seven games, after producing a 6-0-2 run from Feb. 21 – March 7, 2019. The longest such stretch in franchise history is 13 contests (12-0-1 from Dec. 2-29, 2016).

Suter needed to do something after he totally lost his guy in OT and let the Rangers forward walk in on Stalock for the game winner a couple nights ago. Looked like he was on the pleasure rink having a nice leisurely time. 1
