UND-FB-FAN Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Boring! Black helmets, pants and jersey Green helmets, pants and jersey White helmets, pants and jersey Then you could have different combinations, like black helmet with white jersey/pants or green helmet with all black......ect I guess you can dream, but just so you know, there won't be different helmets coming. Simply adding green jerseys on the other hand is probable and practical. UND football deserves to be represented in the same light as it's trandition - green jerseys and white pants. The all black look would be a great alternate combo. Also would like to see the black pants on the road some. Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Why are some of you so resistant to something new? I would be willing to bet if you polled the team, 90%+ would love having multiple uniform combinations. http://saturdaydownsouth.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/new-arkansas-football-uniforms.jpg http://cdn.nikeblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/New-Houston-Football-Uniforms-1.jpeg http://cdn3.sportngin.com/attachments/photo/1392/0919/fb-uniforms-1-1900_1__large.jpg http://helmetgame.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/oregon-state-beavers-new-nike-2013-football-helmets-uniforms-2.jpg Yes it would be appealing, but it's not financially practical to have a bunch of different helmet colors. Sorry. Quote
NDSIOUXFAN1 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Yes it would be appealing, but it's not financially practical to have a bunch of different helmet colors. Sorry. If our football program doesn't have the money to add 1 different helmet and 1 jersey/pants option from the current sets, they may as well close the program. Consistantly, the only 3 sports that make money are football, hockey and mens basketball. I have seen high school football programs do this, so if a D-I college football program can't afford it, we are in serious trouble. Quote

Don't get me wrong, there are ways to work around some of the hurdles. One of our fellow competitors in the Big Sky actually does this. http://umnews.jour.umt.edu/?p=1433 I just don't feel we need to do all this though. If we did, I would be fine with it I guess because it would attract recruits. If we don't, then I'm okay with it also as long as green jerseys come back as our primary home look. Quote
NDSIOUXFAN1 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 I don't have any problem with the green jerseys and would like to see them come back, but I think anything we do that creates interest among recruits, fans and players it money well spent. Quote
Siouxperfan7 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 What is our record at home with the black jerseys.....and what is our record at home wearing the green jerseys?!! Just sayin!!! Quote
The Sicatoka Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 I think jerseys and helmets are quite expensive. Say helmets are 250 a pop and you need around 100 of them.....that's 25 grand...and that money isn't going to make you any more money. Dead end investment. I thought it would be cool for ndsu to do too til I thought about the other stuff the athletics department can do with it. Wow. The lad says something that I agree with. Quote
TBR Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 The black pants and green jersey home combo is awful! Quote
The Sicatoka Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 We look small in the all black ... or maybe we just were small. Someone needs to come up with a home uniform combination that is telegenic. Quote
NDSIOUXFAN1 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Like I said, if our football budget can't handle purchasing helmets and jerseys, we are in serious trouble. Quote
zonadub Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Like I said, if our football budget can't handle purchasing helmets and jerseys, we are in serious trouble. One helmet should be enough... Jerseys- ok Quote
Hawkster Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Like I said, if our football budget can't handle purchasing helmets and jerseys, we are in serious trouble. I heard the athletic dept last year ran $750,000 in the red. I think we can do without new helmets and jerseys. Quote

Siouxphan27 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 We need more wins than uniform combinations. Stick with school colors, forget the ugly black pants and jersey. Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Home: green helmets, green jerseys, white pants Road: green helmets, white jerseys, black pants Problem solved. Use the black jerseys once a year for a blackout game. Even green jerseys with black pants wouldn't look that bad if used sparingly. 1 Quote
UNDBIZ Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Notice the spike in revenue in 2006? Good hockey and good football equals success for the athletic department. The impending doom of the Fighting Sioux name helped sales too. Quote
MafiaMan Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 The black pants and green jersey home combo is awful! Agree x 100! Quote
Matt Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Maybe i'm a minority voice here, but I don't care for black jerseys. School colors are the school colors. Go with them. Quote
UNDColorado Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 I like the black jerseys but would rather have a nice green set for most home games with black pants. Blacks can come out for big games. I thought the new whites looked pretty good. Keep the green helmet for all uni combos. Quote
bincitysioux Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 It is obvious to me that the way to go would be chrome helmets, chrome jerseys, chrome pants, with green shoes. Except in Cheney. We should have red alternate shoes for when we play there. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Green jersey with black pants. It's a mean look and it worked well for those smashmouth teams. The change to white pants at home coincided with softer UND teams. We need to get back to pounding the piss out of teams. Quote
