sprig Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Kind of like the Goon ss.com spelling dictionary, we need a list of Hammerisms, starting with: one-timer (when it's not) gummed up traditional circle of sticks Add more from the past, or as they come up in the future. Quote
ringneck28 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Grade A opportunity (when its not) Quote
burd Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Good topic, especially after we were blessed with the traditional circle of sticks last night. Hammer so goofy, I'm starting to like the guy. Not Dewey Berquist, but a little of that off-the-wall oddness. When this thread is complete, somebody does need to make a T-shirt. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 'What a save by [insert goalie name]' -after replay- 'oh it hit the post!' Quote
InHeavenThereIsNoBeer Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Danny Wristo and other name mistakes I can't remember at the moment Quote
squirtcoach Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 "Gummed up" is my drinking game trigger. Perfect for an old guy like me. 5-6 times each game. By the end of the game, I have become comfortably gummed. 2 Quote
R_Schneider_4 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 He always calls shots one-timers when they're not. Pretty sure he says Fargo Force about 5 times a game I hate listening to him he is an idiot. If I could get the radio and TV synched I would much rather listen to Hennessy. He actually know something about hockey. Quote
Frozen4sioux Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Honk If like you'd like to hear him say .....damn I Failed and got fired again!!! Quote
Wilbur Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 ~I had no idea that Mark and Mitch were brothers......none. Until Hammer told me every week. 1 Quote

808287 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 My new favorite was from last night's game: "Oh...the things that happen in the crease." Quote
Frozen4sioux Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Calling hammer a "resource"....is like telling us a turd is an air freshener Quote

Frozen4sioux Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Not only does 1 have to have extremely limited hockey knowledge to be able to stand listening to this guy but to actually accept It says a lot of oneself. mediocrity, sub par performance, just An apathy for the unacceptable, has never been associated with the tradition of excellence the University of North Dakota hockey has always stood for. the acceptance of " well I guess its all we have " is truly pathetic .....and just sad. especially given the fact that there were other more Talented and experienced options who also applied for the job......that is what is so offensive to those of us who love the Fighting Sioux hockey tradition of excellence Quote

Puffing about your own lofty standards for what other people do or should do, when what you seek is vicarious pleasure and pride through the accomplishment of others. Given the way you express yourself, I will guess that the standards you set for your own life and work are not quite so lofty. It's a game. We love that game, just as we do our alma mater, but it's a friggin game. 7 Quote
sprig Posted December 15, 2013 Author Posted December 15, 2013 My new favorite was from last night's game: "Oh...the things that happen in the crease." Yet I still don't think he understands that the disallowed goal was because of the guy in the crease, rather than just the normal penalized goalie interference rule. It's the blue paint, Hammer. Siouxman Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Thought for the Day: It could have been Ed "I'm the greatest ND has ever had" Schultz instead of Dan Hammer. Quote
