Redneksioux
What are the chances this ends up getting moved to the Ralph because of the demand for these tickets if und makes the tournament? If this stays in Fargo with only 5000 seats available, buying a chunk of tickets would be a good roi buy.

Moving it after a venue went through the work of planning and submitting a proposal to host, and then having the site publicly awarded? No. The NC$$ has been quite content to award sites to venues which sit nearly empty. They will not view a 4500 seat venue packed to the rafters as a problem worth solving.
UNDBIZ
He is as the NCHC rep. maybe he wasn't able to fight for the Ralph to host with all the football and volleyball stuff going on. The big question to ask is finding a football coach more important then hosting a regional at the Ralph. Yes it is, but the 2 have nothing to do with each other.

If it were to get moved, it would basically be the NCAA admitting they made a mistake, and that's incredibly unlikely.

It would be nice to sell out this regional in 10 minutes and make the NCAA ponder how many more seats they could have sold had they not been so hypocritical. Of course we know the NCAA isn't about making money though, it is about being fair to everyone.
MafiaMan
Oh if only the nickname had been changed twenty years ago, we wouldn't be in this predicament... Whatever. The NCAA has a burr in its saddle about Grand Forks, ND and probably always will.

jodcon
Of course the obvious solution for the NCAA is sending UND to South Bend, that would solve the attendance issue at both venues and be another kick in the nuts to our hostile, abusive school. Hypocrisy knows no bounds "@Hamsbrew: Uneducated. Those who believe Scheels Arena outbid the Ralph for NCAA regional hockey tournament. It was a joint effort." Is there anything false about his tweet? The Ralph and UND put in 2 bids for the regional tournaments. One was to be held at the Ralph. The other was a joint bid with Scheels Arena. Therefore Scheels couldn't outbid the Ralph if the Ralph was part of the bid.

UND is the host school for Scheels, so if UND makes the tournament in 2015 they will be at Scheels. First time in years that UND doesn't have to go play in someone else's back yard. Didn't realize that was set in stone, good to know, too bad about the limited seating though, lot of fans are going to be left out unless they pay scalper prices. Snake
Hey jodcon, don't beat yourself up over that one. Most of us thought the "no on-campus venues for regional host sites" was set in stone, too. At least we're hosting the same year they're allowing an on-campus regional. Thankfully we won't have to be one of the poor suckers sent to South Bend to play Notre Dame on their home ice. I wouldn't feel bad if Minnesota or Michigan had to do it!

Snake
Now until the end of time Minnesota will ALWAYS be put in the same region as UND ALWAYS. ...and it's even easier to do now that they're not in the same conference and can have a first-round match-up. MafiaMan
Because we wouldn't even have the new Ralph....... Because my post was thick with sarcasm... You see, UND changed the nickname like the NCAA wanted...and is still getting the shaft. Now the company line is "well, you should have done it years ago and we wouldn't be in this situation and the NCAA would give us regionals and stuff." No, they wouldn't.
