MafiaMan Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Big wins for Michigan Tech and Northeastern tonite...Tech Huskies beat Ferris State and Zombie Huskies (see their logo and you'll understand) shut out the Irish 4-0. Quote
MafiaMan Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 sandelin doing a lot with less! A 5-4 OT win over Mankato State and you're humping Sandelin's leg...Sioux beat Bemidji 4-2 and lead Denver 3-1 after 2 and you're still likely to be screaming for Hakstol's head at the end of tonight's game. I just don't get it... Quote

brianvf Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Could Miami seriously finish last? That's crazy. A season in which they were predicted by most to win the league. Quote
MafiaMan Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Could Miami seriously finish last? That's crazy. A season in which they were predicted by most to win the league. I would NOT want to play Miami in the first round of the WCHA, er, NCHC tournament. Quote
smokey the cat Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 The attendance must have been really bad the box score doesn't have it listed. Collegehockey had the attendance at over 14,000. Possible? Quote

cberkas Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Collegehockey had the attendance at over 14,000. Possible? That was for the second game, the first game had no attendance. Quote
burd Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 sandelin doing a lot with less! If you were a dog fan, you would have shipped Sandy out long ago as an abject failure. 1 Quote

smokey the cat Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 That was for the second game, the first game had no attendance. That is why I think the figure was for both games. Quote

"...hard to get a vibe on the atmosphere..." ..."late-arriving crowd..." ...people were really into it..." ..."kinda like the Beanpot in Boston..."' Blaming the weather for the attendance in the first game...apparently local Gopher fans were expected in the stands for the UMD vs Mankato game...riiiiiight. Quote

Would guess they'll have to blame the weather this afternoon for the meaningless third place game; isn't even on FSN. Hope for both NCHC teams to win today. Quote

MafiaMan Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Bruce Ciskie, UMD play-by-play guy, a little more realistic... attendance for first game not good...fans not really demanding this tournament...still optimistic that it will grow and get better. Also picks UND to win the NCHC title. Quote

burd Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Gophers sure look for real... Yeah. They always have talent, but the thing that sells me on them this year is that they aren't quitters. Last year either. Quote

Hope for both NCHC teams to win today. Would it had been shown if St. Cloud had won last night and the rodents were playing in it? I doubt it since the championship would have been switched to the afternoon and third played at night. Quote
MafiaMan Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 "I just felt a different atmosphere walking into the X last night..." "I think this thing is really gonna explode..." All 14,000 empty seats who watched game #1 yesterday nod their heads in agreement. Quote
sprig Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 You sure? it shows up on my guide for a 4pm start on FSN. Just looked on the USCHO scoreboard and that shows just the 7PM game on FSN. But the first game is in my dish guide as well. Quote
