Probably people clinging to “back in the day” pricing to determine if they still want to give a place their business.

Probably the buffet of free chicken wings and taco bar for a $5 drink.   In college we would go there and eat our meals there for $5.   They still have the cheapest burger on Sunday's !

So much truth to this, you'll also have people saying "wages need to be higher" and "prices have gone up too much" in the same breath.

Here are the latest population estimates for ND.   It shows a 0.29% increase for GF and an improvement over some of the previous years with decreases.   I'm not sure what to think about the increases for the cities in the Fargo metro area.   Looks like Horace will be a top 10 city in population very soon.

Edit to add EGF down by 0.65%   https://worldpopulationreview.com/us-cities/minnesota

Do you want this thread locked down like the crime one was earlier?

economy=houses

1000 bucks in rent a month bc you don't have 50k to spend down but you have 200k in your 401k and don't want to pay the penalty....seems like a great idea to me

1000 bucks into a house instead of renting....

I believe most 401ks already allow you to borrow against them for things like house down payments.  Then you pay yourself back over time.  I know mine does. Not exactly the same but works.

interesting

anyone familiar with or know someone that used the "rule of 55?"

401k loans exist. Usually max at 50% of your value. Some plans don’t allow you to continue contributing though until you pay the loan off.

And you obviously aren’t earning on the money you withdrew.  I had coworkers actually benefit from that as the market dropped during that time but that money was taken out.  They did earn whatever interest rate they were paying themselves.
