Doesn't the IPF have locker rooms for football? Is there thought that the new locker room at Memorial will be a visiting locker room, if there is a full blown renovation of Memorial? My copy of the plan has the monorail terminal stopping at the Schleussner gate entrance to Fennell Field. That thing was straight out of the 80s. I'm excited to see the new meeting and film room at their disposal in the IPF, they should be even better than the ndsu ones which are top notch. The only reason I bring this up is so we can see what we should be striving for. They have some of the best football offices in the country, and that can lend a lot to on-field success. There are many reasons why North Dakota needs this Indoor Practice Facility, and quite honestly, competition with Fargo football is the main one. We need to have a lot better than those I couldn't agree more - this new IPF has the potential to be even better than what NDSU has, but that remains to be seen. Maybe not be the case with this one though since I assume it will be considered a "state" project and the bidding will have to be done in a certain way. I don't know the specifics on that, someone else can probably fill in the blanks. I saw the legal announcement a month or more ago for a RFP for engineering services. Popular Post 82SiouxGuy Posted May 22, 2013 Popular Post Share Posted May 22, 2013 Rumor is that they are planning to strip anything of value out of the Old REA starting as early as next week (copper wire, bathroom fixtures, etc.). Building should start coming down before the end of June. I believe that the goal is to have the salvage pay for the demolition. Groundbreaking for new facility some time around August 1st (or maybe closer to when school starts?). Money is in place for 1st phase of building project. They hope to have the remainder of funds in place in time to keep the project going through completion, but they still have a little money to raise to make that happen. Total approved project is $19+ million for both phases. My guess is that they will be able to start using it some time during the 2014-2015 school year, but I didn't hear any building completion timelines.
