Rory Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 The Kings are the 3rd team in history to play 21 games in the first 3 series. Almost every series this year, for everyone not just the Kings, has been down to the wire and phenomenal to watch. It's been nothing short of amazing. Quote
siouxweet Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 one of the analysts after the game last night said this was the greatest series he has ever seen. I wouldn't go that far. games 2, 3 and 4 weren't that great. 5 and 6 were by end to end play, but that has been it. I thought the Hawks/Blues series was better, I mean four of the six went to OT(one 3OT), goals scored late to send them OT. Quote
SiouxScore Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Coach Q is as good as anyone in making tactical adjustments against an opponent. Tonight, by double-shifting Kane for most of the night, he created matchup space - and Doughty was not on the ice for Kane's GWG. And tonight, Chicago got a bounce. (Smith's bank shot off Quick.) A Game 7 is always magical... I can hardly wait. Agreed Coach Q is great at adjustments and it always seems other teams are forced to play to the Blackhawk's style while the Blackhawk's don't often get caught having to play another teams style. LA also had a couple fortunate bounces last night that resulted in goals too like the 3rd goal when a pass went off the skate of a Blackhawk and bounced right to Doughty and he took it and scored so the bounces went both ways. Just a great game all the way around though last night and I kind of wish LA and Chicago could just make this series something like a best of 15 for the finals. Quote
siouxweet Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 the Blackhawks just seem to get better as a series goes on. Over the last two years they are unbeaten in games 5-7 and going back to 2010 they are 21-3 versus 25-23 in games 1-4. we'll see if the trend continues tomorrow. Quote

sioux rube Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 That is an astounding stat. Here is another one for ya. Patrick Kane career playoff goals by period: 1st: 9 2nd: 7 3rd/OT: 21 Quote
scpa0305 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Here is another one for ya. Patrick Kane career playoff goals by period: 1st: 9 2nd: 7 3rd/OT: 21 Wow, I never knew that. That is impressive. He also has a bunch of ot winners too. Quote
Fetch Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 just think what he could do if he played a full game Quote
Speez Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Should be a barnburner battle of 2 heavyweights. Have to go with the Hawks again. 5-2 Hawks. Home ice is only going to help them put this series away. GO HAWKS!!! Quote
Fetch Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 They should just give the cup to the winner of this one Quote
sioux rube Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Crazy first period. Hawks up 3-2 after Kings had tied it 12 seconds earlier. Quote
sioux rube Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Last 2 periods Quicks save percentage is an unhealthy .500. 5 goals on 10 saves. Quote
Fetch Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 At least if Chicago wins there won't be any late night games I mean I'm loving the games but I have places to be things to do Quote
SiouxScore Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 If this series hasn't been good enough already now we get an overtime in game 7 Quote
SiouxScore Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Real tough goal for the Hawks to lose on but it seems like you see that kinda goal a lot in OT and gotta feel for Nick Leddy trying to help his goalie out by blocking the shot and bounces off him and in. Quote
sioux rube Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 On to the Kings bandwagon and Matt Greene. What a great series though. Wish it would be best of 9. Quote
siouxweet Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 let the start of the Kings dynasty begin. two in three trumps two in four. Rangers have zero shot at beating LA. Go Rangers though. Quote
MafiaMan Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Absolutely fabulous series...only fitting that game 7 went to OT. New York vs Los Angeles...should out-do San Antonio vs Miami in the National Snoozeball Finals. Quote

Lunquist can not only steal a game but he is capable of stealing a series. Don't see it happening though. Kings in 7 with Greene getting the Cup winner in overtime. Quote

I'm not quite sure how two Stanley Cups in five years isn't dynasty material but two in four years would be...Just my opinion, but while I do not consider the Avalanche ('96, '01) a dynasty at all, I think the Red Wings ('97, '98, '02,) and Devils ('95, '00, '03) are. Oxbow6 Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Leave it to Leddy, an ex Gopher, to sink the Hawk's back to back Cup pursuit! Quote
