Oxbow6 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I want to feel music, not hear someone starting a lawn mower... I do have very high standards for music- although the glam rock of my era...Poison or Jovi or Crue will still bring a certain smile to my face...probably the same way KISS does for people 15 years older than me Have seen Poison and Jovi live as well..they aren't KISS. Wild still up 1-0 Quote

MafiaMan Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Have seen Poison and Jovi live as well..they aren't KISS. Wild still up 1-0 Poison? That band can't hold a candle to Cinderella or Ratt. Quote
yzerman19 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I actually really like Cinderella...Ratt on the other hand... Quote
yzerman19 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 If you got the gist of my posts, I do not put Poison or Jovi up as good music...I was equating a feeling of nastalgia tied to a band that might correspond to some people's feelings about KISS Quote
sioux rube Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Marchand has missed 2 wide open nets tonight. I mean wide open. Quote
sioux rube Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 And Marchand gets the last laugh as the Bruins win in overtime 3-2.. Quote
Redneksioux Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I also have very high standards for music (to the point where I could be fairly accused of being a music snob), and the four bands named in the above post are all among my top five favorite artists (Warrant is the other one). Lemme guess Nelson is #6? Quote
sioux rube Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Granlund is becoming a man right before our eyes. Quote
sprig Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Don't know if it will stay this way but my dish guide in western ND shows the hockey game (KFYR Bismarck) spoke too soon; guide update now shows Bison practice out west as well Quote
Goon Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 sorry guys- having not lived through KISS, I think they are terrible. It was a bad time for music in general... Its all opinion, but making up for bad lyrics and music with loudness and pyrotechnics...lame blasphemy! 1 Quote
Goon Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Poison? That band can't hold a candle to Cinderella or Ratt. I have seen both bands. I thought Cinderella was "way" better. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Wild only give up 12 SOG last night...if that type of overall D continues I like their chances in this now best of 3. Quote
sioux rube Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Wild only give up 12 SOG last night...if that type of overall D continues I like their chances in this now best of 3. The Avs had basically the last 2 minutes of 6 on 4 and managed 1 shot on net. 1. Of course it helped that Granlund blocked 3 shots during that time. The kid is going to be a star in this league. SiouxScore Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Granlund is becoming a man right before our eyes. So much stronger than last season, another pretty dominating performance by the Wild and Varlamov is the only thing keeping the Avs in the series right now. Quote
Ray77 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Man, I was excited when I came into this thread this morning and saw there were about 3 or 4 unread pages from last night. Imagine my disappointment when instead of reading some good NHL playoff dialogue, I got a recap of the late 70's and 80's hair band rock music. I love the music from that era, and wouldn't mind discussing it...just didn't expect to read about it here. Such great playoff action, so little talk about it in this forum! 1 Quote
petey23 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Give me 70's or pre Born in the USA Springsteen, Kristofferson, Cash... modern era Uncle Tupelo, Drive By Truckers, Lucero...maybe The Hold Steady I'll take Revolver and Abbey Road Beatles... Throw in ex Trucker Jason Isbell, Son Volt and Wilco from the Tupelo split, along with a little White Stripes, Black Keys, Alabama Shakes, and Heartless Bastards and of course Petty and I am good to go! petey23 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I actually really like Cinderella...Ratt on the other hand... I actually saw Bon Jovi open up for Ratt. Quote

Goon Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I actually saw Bon Jovi open up for Ratt. Ratt Was a pretty good concert as well. Quote
Siouxperfan7 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Since this thread has drifted to the awesome topic of 80's rock bands, I will throw in my two cents!! Anyone else go to the Nugent/Reo Speedwagon/Styx concert at the Ralph last year? Awesome show. Can't believe those guys are still rocking out after all these years!! Quote
