YaneA
Don Adam named Director of Officiating for NCHC, per Schlossman's tweet.
WiSioux
Please tell me that is a joke... I know it is probably hard to find all new refs, but I was hoping to not see any WCHA refs I got an email about it too
YaneA
He won't be on-ice; he's kicked upstairs but still...
TNF
I checked my calendar and unfortunately it is not April Fool’s day. This is the best the NCHC can do? http://youtu.be/10-p3C-FbGw He is also the ref that gave Paukovich a 2-minute boarding penalty on the play that broke Bina's neck. While his ability to make on ice decisions may not directly correlate to his ability to make administrative decisions; I'm not sure this selection brings immediate credibility to the league. Blackheart
Are you effin kidding me? Are they gonna name Bruce McLeod as the treasurer too?
J.B.
The bright side to this is that he will not be on the ice. Big disappointment though. I thought this was supposed to be the premier college hockey conference. NCHC just took a big step backwards imho.
SiouxFanatic
The whole reason for starting this conference is nothing but a joke. The hiring of Don Adam just exacerbates the joke.
fargosioux
I lost a lot of respect for this new league today.

siouxkid12
I sure hope they don't hire Derek Shepherd or Todd Anderson!
Goon
I can't believe it either... I was at the DR for my Daughters appointment and got the great news on my phone... I was muttering under my breath and said the NCHC just made a big mistake.

He was also the ref when Genoway got his concussion. Didn't even make a call until the next whistle, then gave a 5-min major to the wrong guy. This is the best they can do ? Not impressed at all with the decisions made by the NCHC since it was formed.
SiouxVolley
Couldn't they have found a NHL or AHL ref that wants to retire from the ice for a teaching/ desk job?

Goon
This is hilarious! I would hold your laughter until you see who the B1G hires... I could see the CCHA getting Matt Shegos and he isn't much better than the refs buffoons that currently ref in the WCHA.
Emerald joker
The next thing I think they should do is make the shepherd's the official refs for the Sioux games!

Let'sGoHawks!
Bring back Martenelo (sp?) from his Windsor strip club. That is funny I almost posted that medo martinello (sp?) must not have been available! Didn't think anyone remembered him.

Neither one of us can remember how to spell his name. Only the long time fans would remember him. These young whipper snappers would'nt have a clue. Irish
Wow - Faison had done some pretty competent things as AD - The Big Sky is one, but he seems to be completely oblivious when he comes to hockey. The new conference started out with such hope, and has been nothing but disappointing since. First St. Clown instead of Notre Dame, then the disastrous (to us) TV contract, not this. I thought once we got the cream of the crop (less St. Clown) in a conference with us, we would do away with the old WCHA politics of the inmates running the asylum. Apparently not. I thought we would commit to excellence from top to bottom and eliminate the rush to mediocrity that seemed to permeate the WCHA. The officiating was one of the biggest frustrations. Guess not. We must not have any say in this league. Time for Faison to stick up for UND.

Nodaker
Dave Hakstol - University of North Dakota- "Don is very well respected throughout college hockey. Over the years his officiating style has constantly evolved as changes have come to the way the game is played and he is very well equipped to build a quality staff of officials for the NCHC." I'm sure Hak was thinking this while he flipped the bird at Adam in 2008. Sure seems like the bar has been set pretty low as far as officiating goes.
ScottM
This league is turning into a joke and it hasn't even gotten off the ground.
