Bison Dan Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 What's with all the TV ads then? Again - they don't need to tell anybody where they play., Advertising an home game is not the same. Quote
Johnny Five Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Anyone do black end zones? I don't recall...that would be pretty cool. Quote
siouxknocka Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Is there a link or a pic of this? I've got a PDF file only and I don't know how to get it uploaded here. Quote
darell1976 Posted December 22, 2011 Author Posted December 22, 2011 People in the Fargo area don't need to be told where the Bison play! What about people outside of Fargo? Or even people in South Fargo who treat North Fargo like its a suburb. Quote
GeauxSioux Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 According to the Herald's classifieds, the work, if awarded, must be complete by August 24,2012. http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/classifieds_details/id/1372148/classification/NORTH-DAKOTA-LEGALS/ Quote

PhillySioux Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 This is what Northern Arizona put in as a removable fieldturf system. http://sportfield.com/softop.php Quote
bigskyvikes Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 What happened to the Canadian pro football player that went to UND, that said he was going to donate big money for a new football stadium? Quote

dmksioux Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 What happened to the Canadian pro football player that went to UND, that said he was going to donate big money for a new football stadium? The person you're referring to is Dave Fennell. There has been plenty of message board speculation that he may donate a large sum of money to UND for football/new stadium, but as far as I recall, he never personally said or pledged that money. The Sicatoka Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I hope they don't do the trendy/flashy thing like Boise State and EWS and do the field and striping in school colors ... oh, ... wait ... Quote

Cratter Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 watching the georgetown/memphis game...its being played in the verizon center yet i see a georgetown logo at mid-court? The same Verizon Center where the Washington Wizards play...the one that has "Verizon Center" on the hardwood? REA also has its name on the floor. Quote

choyt3 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 The FargoDome's new turf is said to be costing in the neighborhood of $3 million, with bids expected to "come in lower". Today's GF Herald estimated the new turf at the Alerus Center to be $4 milliion. And it sounded like that was a bottom number, as bids may be higher. Serious question here... why the huge difference? Is this because of a bidding war? Quote

Is this because of a bidding war? Nope. It's because (because of what what stated on this site) the Bison secondary is slow. Therefore, to make them look faster, the FargoDome uses only 75% of the field size that they do at the Alerus and other stadiums. Therefore, in the FargoDome, a yard there is only 27" as opposed to normal football field's 36". Aren't you glad you asked? Quote

Is this because of a bidding war? I would guess that the cost of the turf itself is probably similar at both locations if they are both specified as the exact same product. My guess for the large difference in cost for each project would be for all of the other work required to handle the new turf. The existing pits at the Fargodome don't need much work done to them to accept the new turf whereas the Alerus center pits need to be almost completely redone for the new turf. Quote
darell1976 Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 This is what Willie from CS.com came up with. I mentioned you may have to throw the words Alerus Center on it. Quote

gfhockey Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Wonder if faison and co. can get someone to help sponsor the Alerus's field it will look really bad if we dont Rydell? Altru? Bergstrom? Plenty of big Business's can do this. Make sure they get there check in before the end of the year like gate city for tax purposes though Granted we arent going to get a million for it but anything helps Quote
