Thank you once again for this update. Really appreciate them.

Happy to do them!  It's interesting to see some of them progress as the season goes along.

I'm really interested to see how the current HS forward group does next year in juniors...as all four of them (Pilgrim, Zellers, Schultz, and Simpson) are averaging over 2 pts/gm against HS competition.  Could be a very dynamic group incoming in the next couple years.

Mac Swanson already with a hat trick and three assists after two periods so far tonight.

He finished with that 3-3-6 line.  Heck of a game for him in a 11-4 Force win over the Stampede.
Unfortunately, his future UND teammate, Caleb Heil, was in net for 7 of those Force goals (ouch, 10 saves - 7 goals allowed).
Panzer also scored a goal for the Stampede in the losing effort.

It would be fun (and, yes, quite a bit of work) if someone could identify these commits by the former Sioux player that most reminds them of.   Some of us have never seen them play or even watched the league they play in, so other than stats and draft status, cannot visualize their play,   Occasional vids are nice.

Some of us fans are so needy . . . :D

Why is the NCAA commitment line blank? I really hope that is an error.

I would be pretty confident that it’s an error. USHL also has had in the past Jake Schmaltz being Nick and Jordan’s brother and  Cody Croal as being committed to Maine. They’re notorious for being inaccurate/not updated.

Nevermind, stats page was updated.
Now shows that Swanson finished the night with a 3-4-7 line.
Dang, heck of a game.  That's 10 pts in his last 2 games.

I get the feeling Sioux Falls has got major defensive issues, as the other goalie gave up 5 goals yesterday and another 6 goals tonight on 10 shots before Heil came in and stopped all 13 shots he faced.  It really is hard to know how much these goaltenders are responsible for the goals, or just a combination of poor defense and goaltenders losing focus.

Mac with an Ulmer (3-3-6 line).

Surprising to see Eiserman that low at #8.

A couple UND commits made the top 50 list:

Quote

19. Sacha Boisvert, C, Muskegon Lumberjacks (USHL)

Progression has been part of Boisvert’s story this season. He just keeps getting better and rounds out his game more and more. Boisvert is 6-foot-2, plays a heady two-way game and he can score. He is a good skater who has a fluid, smooth game as a result of his mobility. Boisvert can shoot from anywhere and be dangerous, while also showcasing enough hand skills to make defenders miss and deceive goaltenders. He’s on pace for 40 goals in the USHL, which is a fairly rare figure to hit – especially for a draft-eligible player.

Quote

25. E.J. Emery, D, U.S. National Under-18 Team

Though Emery has had a tougher season to read based on results, the tools and upside he seems to possess are tantalizing. Emery has a 6-foot-3 frame that he’s still growing into, but moves effortlessly and has some power to him. Defensively, he’s tough to get around and can make good, physical stops thanks to solid gap control and angling ability. Offensively is where his projection is tougher to make. You can see some elements of hand skills and the ability to move pucks up ice, but his numbers have been poor in terms of production. Committed to the University of North Dakota, Emery is one of those players you take in this range and stay patient. He’s growing into his game and the immense athletic tools he has.

Comments:

  • Boisvert is now 2nd in the USHL in goals scored, with 30.  He's behind only Kaden Shahan, who is listed as committed to UConn on EP, but no commitment listed on his USHL page.
  • Pilgrim is one of the 10 finalists for 2024 MN Mr Hockey award.

This seems the appropriate thread, after the federal injunction yesterday its practically college program malpractice toward its athletes to not embrace every NIL collective conceivable. Embrace it or become a farm team in short order. This is largely a football issue, luckily our fanbase rules hockey so this should actually helps us

This may have been discussed already but I saw that Cade Littler is out for the rest of the regular season with an upper body injury. He has a chance to play in the playoffs for Penticton still but unsure.

I wonder if he comes in next year? I believe he has another year of eligibility left.

Thoughts?

He needs another year, and given his dad is a juniors coach, he won't have anyone in his ear giving bad advice.
