This game wasn’t on the players. They clearly weren’t prepared for the Trap game. Duluth used it and counter attacked for almost every goal. KV and  Liv made mistakes, but the blame lies with the coaches. Sandelin gave us a master class of coaching, and game planning. The lack of hockey knowledge on this forum is nauseating. Some of you are absolutely insufferable, myself included. Kick rocks.

Maybe Jax should have watch the game from the box or on tv if he can't see what's going on from the bench. OMG

Or I'm sure he could text TH and/or Mike.......

They kicked our butts, but I need an explanation on the spearing.  Especially when I watched Verhoeff get a butt ending major that wasn't even close to being as nasty as the cup check.

No kidding. Was watching with a neutral fan that has no ties and he was as shocked as me that wasn’t a major

If verhoff did that to Beebe it would have been an auto 5. Probably why the review took so long trying to come up with an explanation why it’s a 2.

If Kleven did it, he would be facing charges

After that, to think that they could string 4 wins together is a tall order

I can still see it.  This is the best team since 2016.  They're going to need better goaltending, though, as the high pressure style of play yields quality chances against on counterattacks, and some of the upcoming opponents will have some skill.

The 2016 team didn't look good in the NCHC semifinals either. Don't write the team off based on one (albeit putrid) game.

I thought the team wasn’t prepared well by the coaches.

simple question, do teams hit a wall at this time of the year, seems like UND does in the semi finals

‘as far as my hockey knowledge it’s been awhile since I stayed at a holiday inn express

Not sure that style of play will work in the playoffs. You may win some games but to win 4 in a row against good teams will be very tough.

It's ALWAYS "very tough" to win a natty in this sport. That's something that is well known by anyone who follows the college game.

What I find very disheartening is that our own fan base has gone incredibly soft and complacent and seemingly resigned to our status as a stepping stone for other teams and also-rans in college hockey who cannot be expected to compete for nattys anymore.

The idea that everything is based on "luck" has become almost Biblical law around here and it is absolutely infuriating. Denver hasn't won 3 nattys since 2017 because they are "lucky". It's because they have recruited well and have had outstanding coaches guiding the program. We now have an outstanding coaching staff of our own who cleaned up a toxic dumpster fire in a few short months last year. And I think the future is way brighter for this program as a result.

It is NOT "unrealistic" to expect this program to annually compete for nattys, it should be a reasonable expectation. And I think Jackson and his excellent staff are in position to do just that.

Now it's time for our fan base to shrug off our self-doubt and PTSD from recent playoff failures and start believing again.

I think it's very likely that several on the team are sick.

They are also very skilled and have the NCHC best goalie.

Last night wasn't great and a natty is hard to win.

Locked in as a 1 seed is a lot better than whatever last yr was.

This season is 100x better than last season no matter what happens the rest of the way.

I know it sounds like an excuse but how many games in a row have they had someone out sick? And guys are likely puking and have nausea, guarantee it’s not a little headache. Perhaps this is the best thing that could happen for them, quarantine for the next 5-6 days then start preparing for your first round opponent

After the non-Sioux results last night, the loss is probably a good thing. Not a given they'd jump UM for 1 overall...and they clearly need time off to get healthy. Hopefully, Oli too.

That's not an excuse, it's an unfortunate truth. You cannot expect to win hockey games when you are fighting an illness. They absolutely must quarantine sick players so it doesn't spread to the rest of the team. The extra time off is a Godsend for allowing sick players to shake off the virus and get back to what they have been doing all season.

Did the team get flu shots? If they have symptoms do they wear a mask when near roomates etc.? Do the team doctors advise them on protocols? There are ways to stay well if you follow them.
