Yes, closes tomorrow midnight. Posted salary $100-132K. Would think Danny would be looking for more unless he and family love GF and UND or it opens other oppties.

Can't get excited about either one. Guy from Alabama will be looking to get out of GF and Danny will be looking for the next oppty to move up.

So we shouldn't hire any good young coaches that don't want to spend the next 20 years living and coaching in Grand Forks? 

Yes Danny will be looking eventually, but my guess is he would likely want to stick around at least 2-3 years to hopefully ride out this upswing in UND football under Schmidt for a little while.  If Schmidt is really successful,  Schmidt might move up and maybe Danny gets shot at head coach.

The red zone TD stats don't lie, and Danny didn't have a QB that could actually run like Jerry can.

Good. That’s what happens with good programs at this level. Coaches move on up.

If, when Danny is here, Gordie I still think would be next in line. More experience/learning he could be the heir apparent. Schmidt says he wanted coaches with energy and desire to improve their craft, if so, we will lose some assistants but still can get quality especially if we continue our trajectory.

Thus having Bubba as HC x 11 years was a travesty, but we know how that story ended. 
 

The current path is the one to be excited about. Set high expectations. We want the current coaches - as much as it might sting - to be promoted on out of here in 2-3 years.
