Tarleton is good but don’t be a tool .  Saying Tarleton is  “ a lot better”  is absolute BS.  Tarleton is nothing special. Dime a dozen actually . Und would have beat up Tarleton early on when und was healthy.  No question.  Coming here and being a complete arrogant asshole doesnt do any good.   Was going to wish Tarleton  good  luck but

The dumba$$ penalty on the punt block that was returned for a TD was play of the game. Go up 7-0 vs down 3-0 would have been huge. 10 point swing right off the bat.

This was a game where the offense needed to show up and it didn't. Schmidt was absolutely right in that the offense regressed as the year progressed and that is 100% on the offensive coordinator. Every legit team we played other than Kansas St the offense completely vanished. You aren't going to make it far if you are asking your team to hold the opponent under 10 points each game to win. I don't think Freuchte will be out this offseason, but I also don't agree with it. He has not shown the ability to field a competitive offense against the top end of FCS teams and the last two seasons of QB play are just depressing. Simon never should have been a full-year starter last year and Kaminski actively regressed throughout the season. That shows lack of recruiting and lack of development and you just can't have that and expect to be winning close games.

You are correct, the OL was pretty good at times but not special. 

This was most obvious against the big boy DLs we played late in the like the SUs.  We really didn't move them at all.

You tend to assume every mistake by a player on special teams is a coaches fault. It isn’t. Just in case you want to blame Kostich for the fake punt, he doesn’t make that call, even if he thought it would work. 

 

Per Herald article Schmidt says they coached this point a lot.  He falls on the sword but.........

"We've talked about those things in fall camp," Schmidt said. "You can't leap the shield. You could run through the shield. You can't jump over it. As soon as I saw it it, it was like you can't do that. We've got to do a better job of coaching that. It's obviously not something we asked him to do. It was in the heat of the moment."

I don’t get angry. There was nothing serious in my post. I’ve said before, I come here for entertainment. However, if someone wants to rag on a UND FB player repeatedly for 2 years, when he can’t defend himself, then I may object.
It’s only a fan forum but if fans want to dis others, then they shouldn’t be surprised when others give it back. I doubt bike guy is bothered by any of my responses to him nor am I bothered by his to me.
Heck, I might be one of those fat kids in my Grandma’s basement, wearing a XXXL Sioux hockey jersey and XXL sweatpants, living on a diet of Cheetos and Fresca.

This season, UND also played more games than NDSU, and won more playoff games than NDSU.
