Beavers vs Hawks - Home and Home on Thanksgiving weekend

Not following the disrespect of BSU after this one.  They played well, including pushing the play offensively.  There've been plenty of boring games in the past, but Bemidji pushed the pace on this one.

I think they were outshooting us for awhile. Don't know how it turned out. There are plenty of teams in the tournament who can play a disciplined game like BSU and we need to learn how to play against them. I don't see why everyone is so against playing them. I'd be more against playing them if they were as weak as Miami has been.

I agree with you 100% this years BSU team is much easier to watch and way more talented than years past

I don't mind playing BSU just not every year. Simple as that.

I will admit Bemidji does look better this season but they have been weak in past seasons. I’m just tired of seeing them regularly. Rotate them out.

Once every 6 to 7 years. If it has to be every year make it an exhibition game that rotates each year.

Not anti-beaver but there really isn’t any upside to the series if you’re UND. Sweep and you don’t move in pairwise/rpi, lose and you drop. Just feels like we are doing their program a favor year after year after year. Outside of this year, it’s the same boring trap hockey where BSU hopes to squeek out a 2-1 or 3-2 win.

Minnesota should be yearly over Bemidji, I'd have to agree that Wisconsin should be yearly over Bemidji. I'd rather see them get other teams on a rotation instead of giving Bemidji a yearly game (i.e. BC, BU, Maine, Michigan Tech, other CCHA teams, etc....).

I agree with all that if it's possible. Expense wise BSU in the rotation might be good too.

Reschny didn't get an assist on the winning goal, but he won that faceoff cleanly which made it possible for Zellers' heroics.

I’m not sure why everyone assumes BSU is a tournament killer this year just because they may have been previous years.

As others and I have pointed out, this year is the outlier. Serratore has been around a long time and he has made comments about this year being one of the most talented and fastest teams he has had. Most years, there is nothing to gain from this series. I have nothing against Bemidji. I will root for them in every game that isn’t against UND.

While it’s the outlier there’s still people talking about us playing so poorly against a bad team. BSU isn’t a bad team this year, they got major reinforcements from major juniors thanks to Serratore being one of the first ones on the recruiting trail a year before the ruling was even made.

I’ll agree with that. They are a good team this year that plays a style that’s way more uptempo than most years. My beef is them being on the schedule year after year with no upside to UND when it comes to pairwise/rpi.

Agreed that BSU isn't a bad team this year.  I would say that they are rarely a bad team...but they are frequently a trap team that is boring to watch play.
This year they have more offensive talent that can drive the play, for sure.

That said, I'm glad that this weekend is past UND and they managed to snag a couple wins.  BSU will win their fair share of games this year and will probably challenge for the CCHA title.  These two wins this weekend will help our NPI come tourney selection time.

I would like to see what CC and Denver do with Air Force and an east coast school. Maybe have two teams from outside the NCHC and CCHA come in and play one game each against UND and Bemidji. Maybe get a Hockey East and a Big Ten or more realistically, an Atlantic Hockey league opponent. 
 

This year, CC and Denver each took turns playing a game against Air Force and Bentley. World beaters? -No. But unfamiliar foes, at least with Bentley which I like. And I prefer when CC only has to play Air Force once rather than a two game series.

Now you’re clouding the issue with facts.  I actually like this series. It's an easy travel and it's a lot of fun. This year, I took the family over and we sat behind the UND bench in the stands. This was a fun game to attend. Yes, it was really cold in the stands. I recommend staying in the DoubleTree Inn and Suites. They have a great bar and restaurant Green Mill in the hotel complex.
