UND Football Fan Posted October 5 Posted October 5 We need to win road games against the playoff teams. Best road wins (excluding Great West) were Portland State only playoff teams road win (9-3) 2015, 2018 Sam Houston (6-5) and Youngstown (7-4) 2022. Looking at that, that lack of success with teams with winning records says it all. UNI win was great, but not a playoff team. Team needs to refocus and not have a letdown after our first road win in nearly two years. With new systems and better depth this team is better but needs to continue to improve. Self inflected wounds would be losses if on road against legit playoff teams or bubble teams. 1 Quote

Just a side issue but I believe we are 5-0 in covering the spread. Quote

Shouldn’t he have the same common courtesy for guys like Simon Romfo? He is no longer the starter like many of us had hoped, but he is still being a good teammate, so why continue to rip on him? 1 7 Quote

Popular Post fightingsioux4life Posted October 5 Popular Post Posted October 5 Cripes, with all this bickering, one would think we lost 35-7 yesterday. I for one am enjoying the new energy and attitude Eric Schmidt has brought to this program. 3 8 Quote

Did you watch the game? I was there and it was pretty obvious what they were trying to do. Ran Simon on a pass play in the left flat on first down for a short gain. Nothing to see there, he was just another WR. The next play they ran him on toss-reverse flea flicker type play hoping to catch UNI off guard for a pass. UNI sniffed it out and nobody to throw to so he ate it. Collectively we all love Schmitty and trust his judgement, at least most do compared to people on a message board. He couldn't have spoken more highly of Kostich in an interview a few weeks ago. Was on UNDFootball 360 podcast I think. Schmitty said he was special teams coordinator the last few years and knows what all goes into it and Kostich is one of the best. All the coaches he hired have some ST experience and they all work together to make ST successful They went to a coaches conference with all the big boys from P4 this summer where special teams tactics and strategies were presented and discussed. He was impressed with Kostich who stood right in there with the all of them and was as knowledgeable as anyone there. 1 4 Quote
