This is somewhat surprising. 
CC has nabbed a couple recruits this recruiting cycle that certainly could have come to UND with Lincoln Kuehne and now TJ Hale.

Recruiting just isn’t getting it done. Arizona will be tough recruiting competition in the NCHC.

I’m guessing the possibility of Major Junior players being eligible make decisions about early recruitment that much more difficult.  We’ve see the hit and miss on young players by most teams, so now the pool becomes that much larger from which to choose.

Figured he'd end up in that region being a Chicago area kid and some NIL money to go with it.  I would assume most of the B1G schools were the top of his list.

If it were me, I'd be inclined to pursue my own path--fill my own shoes.   Good luck to him.   I'm sure his immediate and extended family are proud.

We can't change the location of Grand Forks, we can't change the fact that you don't get Big10 football or hoops on off days, the Ralph isn't a huge differentiator anymore (although by no means a detriment)...somehow we gotta get the chippas that other chippas want to play with while recognizing the constraints we have vs Big10 and Hockey East.  At the peak of our recruiting success, players knew that Sioux hockey was where you played to prepare for the NHL...the coaching, facilities, training was all geared towards that...somehow we have lost a great deal of this, and rather quickly
