Ok….if Trump says the Washington Redskins should return, could we be the Fighting Sioux again?

So the MN State High School League is getting into hot water about about their policy allowing men in women’s sports…maybe more to come about that.

I doubt it because the NCAA deemed the Fighting Sioux name as Hostile and Abusive. Plus teams didn't want to play us when we were the Fighting Sioux.

If there was ever a time that they could get it done, it would be now.  NCAA seems to lose every lawsuit against them and Trump being in office help.  People seem to be done with Political correctness.  

But won't happen as the amount of money it would take to change everything back would be crazy.  However merchandise sales would sky rocket.  The university lost their identity when the Sioux name went away.

The NCAA is corrupt and will slap UND into the corner if they tried it, which they won't.

I always felt we should of had Spirit Lake input only. We are North Dakota not North Lakota, so Dakota Sioux nation vote should have mattered in my opinion.

I hear he wants to bring back BlackFace to the Kennedy Center too!  That would be great! If only dear leader could help us with bringing back the REDSKINS and Fighting Sioux names again!  We should get that "UND in 3 Years Guy" that calls into KNOX 47,000 times a day on that!  HE should contact Trump and bring back the nickname that time forgot!!!  GO UND GUY!!

PS - thanks also for solving the 2 cases of men in womens sports that have occurred over the last 20 years!  Finding a solution to a problem that doesn't exist - what Republicans do best!

Facing reality is difficult for some people. 
 

I have my Fighting Sioux gear, but if I am at a UND game and some kids start yelling “Let’s go Hawks!”, I would join in. 
 
I cheer for my alma mater, the University of North Dakota.

True!!! People have a hard time facing reality. I also think people want to bring back the past.  Reality is the Fighting Sioux isn't coming back.

What are you talking about? No one has forgot the Sioux Nickname.  Probably won't ever come back and maybe it shouldn't but to say it has been forgotten is ridiculous.

I’m going to be honest, UND athletics - particularly marketing - needs to step their game up. No reason to sleep on marketing the number one college sport in America like they do; it’s quite ridiculous honestly. Hope to see better in 2025…

I don’t think that’s negative, just honest

with a good marketing plan we can see more excitement with more people at the game 

Bubba would walk thru campus on fridays and talk to students to come to the game 

winning will bring more students

I think the football team especially has done a nice job with new ways to promote new recruits. Schmidt has been good too.
