Well it would be a second game but they usually just avoid it for the first matchup

Only 1 intra-conference Cornell/Dartmouth. Dartmouth goes West Cornell to Albany

There is a reason that most teams cut practice down quite a bit late in the season.  The wear and tear on the body in hockey accumulated over a season is substantial. Guys that are dinged up from that accumulation, like Zmolek, will take any extra rest they can get, so any energy you can save is a bonus.

This would far and away be the best scenario for Cornell and the NCAA. It's not like Dartmouth has fans

I just realized that Michael Emerson is on the Merrimack roster.
Remember him?

Had a great USHL year with the Steel averaging over a pt/gm, then came to UND as a FR in fall of 2023.
Only played 6 games in the first half...didn't get a single point...and then went back to the Steel in the USHL.
Ended up at Merrimack for the last two years.

Crazy.

A good spot , Brian.      Remember the goalie who fell on the ice and hit his head, inducing a coma that lasted a long time?   Maybe 25 years ago or more.  Was that Merrimack?

I like to think that I know a fair amount of college hockey after watching it for almost 40 years, but I’ll be darned if I could remember Merrimack’s nickname and logo before this weekend.  Didn’t realize “Warriors” was still “allowed” these days…

Dartmouth making first trip in 46 years. I bet they show out, least by Ivy/eastern standards.

Wow, for some reason I just assumed they were at least a little more successful, like the other Ivy League hockey teams. Last time they made it, UND won the championship. That would be history worth repeating.

As a MN fan, I'm not 100% sure how to feel on this one.  Meh with a chance for potential? Had some ups and downs at SCSU, last 2 years haven't been good, honestly didn't even think he'd be on the radar.  How would a UND fan describe him getting out of SCSU and into UM?

AD Coyle is a problem after watching this unfold with both hockey teams.

I’ve always looked at Larson as a guy who gets a lot out of his players.  He will be a solid hire for Minny if he can run things his way.

The last part of your post is what concerns me with Coyle still in charge.

Hopefully for my sake it's more of the good with Larson than the bad with better resources.  Only one way to find out, I guess.

Last year he said the team wasn’t going to be a down year, but Posch came out of no where and once he was hurt SCSU wasn’t the same. If they had Posch this year they would have been in the top 4 of the NCHC.

I don’t think any effort was put into this search and they should have had Bobs replacement already on the bench.

Kinda sounds like it's gonna be Larson sometime today.
