Dude isn’t really fully committed.  He left UMD and then was talked back by WMU coach but I feel he doesn’t have long term plans to do anything.

I think the college game has passed him by.   His teams weren't fast enough to compete with what we saw last night and crave to be.

He would need to recruit “his style” of players. And with portal/CHL a big factor now on how rosters are shaped each year, absolutely he moves a needle. Great college success sending guys to NHL plus his NHL resume.

It would not even be close to worse than what we have seen last few years as far as on ice effort, passion etc

That's basically the same as an internal hire. Which is the last thing we need.

We have to think about the future of the program, not just the next 3 to 4 years.

What? You just recruit speed. The reason we look slow in the style we play. We have guys that can burn. Play a possession game as opposed to damp and maybe chase.

Schmidt left UND and learned under DeBoer. He's changing our defense for the first time since 1989. He's a much different coach than he was when he was defensive coordinator.

Hiring Hakstol would be pushing the easy button, which is something you have justifiably criticized in the past.
