neonpelican Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I don't remember Jake's exact words but in post-game interview Berry was not happy with Jake. Seemed odd that Berry wouldn't express his issue with Jake off camera. Sorry I can't recall specifics of that commentary. Maybe someone else recalls. It was last year if my feeble memory is somewhat intact. Quote

The same one's who wanted Hak fired a decade ago and got what they wanted with Berry being let go? Some similarities to Nebraska football and Bo Pelini. Hopefully this works out better than that has. 2 Quote

Coincidentally Lang has 8 years of head coaching experience at the collegiate level. This was under 'Minimum Requirements'. Interesting why the requirement is 8 years. Quote

Go ahead i will wait .... none because nobody follows college hockey outside of UND and a few other schools. Most schools barely have any fans as demonstrated this weekend in St Paul. Not hard to be the best in a niche sport coverage……… 1 Quote

SJHovey Posted March 24 Posted March 24 If anyone wants to go back and dig out the Fire Hak! threads, you'll see that I was obviously a Hak supporter. I have no problem with him coming back. He clearly will be a hire that will position us best to retain the current players we have and the recruits in the pipeline. Is he best for the long term? I guess time will tell. 1 Quote

cberkas Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Dave Hakstol – He’s the safe choice right now. Could see him taking an NHL job again as an assistant or head coach Arron Schneekloth – AHL Head coach. I’d expect him to want to get a job in the NHL not sure if it would be with the Avs. Head from a mom of a Denver player that was on the 2024-25 team. That her son loves him as a coach. Garrett Roboin – Augustana head coach Matt Smaby - Waterloo Blackhawks head coach, USHL Eric Lang – Former AIC head coach, don’t see him leaving the northeast. Peter Mannino – (Colorado College associate head coach), Excellent recruiter, he has that swager you’d want on the bench Todd Knott – (Wisconsin associate head coach) top recruiter for Hastings, would he want the job after turning down Mankato Dana Borges – (Arizona State assistant) I think he runs the ASU power play Mike Corbett – (Arizona State assistant) helped with Quinnipiac win a National Title Jared DeMichiel – (Michigan State associate head coach) top recruiter Marty Murray – (Brandon Wheat Kings head coach, WHL) He has connections to Minot Mark Derlago – (Brandon Wheat Kings assistant, WHL) Paul McFarland – (Calgary Hitman head coach, WHL) NHL and OHL experience, Memorial Cup Champion and OHL Champion Mike Field – (Everett Silvertips assistant, WHL) former ASU associate head coach Joey Frazer – (Medicine Hat Tigers associate head coach, WHL) from Brainard Mark O’Leary – (Moose Jaw Warriors head coach, WHL) Brett Skinner – (Fargo Force head coach, USHL) Clark Cup Champion Brennan Sonne – (Coachella Valley Firebirds assistant, AHL) Former WHL head coach Jeff Ulmer – San Jose assistant, NHL Dane Jackson – I’m sure he’ll get an interview, I’d rather move on from him Karl Goehring – I’m sure he’ll get an interview. Colten St. Clair – I’d like to have him here as an assistant coach Brad Malone – (Oshawa Generals interim head coach, OHL) I’d like to see him as an assistant also My top 11 out of this list would be in no particular order: Arron Schneekloth Garrett Roboin Paul McFarland Peter Mannino Mike Corbett Jeff Ulmer Mark O’Leary Brett Skinner Todd Knott Matt Smaby Dave Hakstol 1 2 Quote

Admittedly very frustrated at 7 FFs without a Natty. BB gets the crossover Natty basically with Hak's team and he should be acknowledged for that. Great accomplishment but the other side of the mountain was completely underwhelming. Sometimes in life you take for granted what's in front of you until it's gone and you see the other side of the coin. I'd easily take 7 FFs vs 1 tournament win with 4 missed NCAAs thrown in. Watchable hockey with a program that gets back to relevance needs to be the goal. 2 Quote
