Search for a New Head Coach

Guessing our AD doesn’t have much if any hockey background? If that’s to be the case, would he lean on anyone knowledgeable in the college hockey world to help in the screening and decision making process?

The level of bravado we have sometimes is insane. Don’t forget he’s a young guy who now has roots which will play a role in that kind of decision. Especially since he’s not on a sinking ship.

Garret is a high character guy so his loyalty to Josh Morton and his players is a factor. His wife and many of his HS classmates are UND grads. (27 from his HS class went to UND).

Money is a factor but not necessarily most important.

Some of the replies to Brads post are saying this is a big mistake. One of the best was 1 bad season and they fire the coach. Social media never disappoints

And the next head coach will be on that list.

The AD is a moron. He had no plan other than to fire Berry. He isn’t smart enough to understand how to play the game at that level. The DU’s & Michigan State’s of college hockey are playing 3 layer chess, while our guy is still getting beat at tick tack toe.

Schlossman usually plays it fairly safe with the Admin.  Virg would have had his list out already!

You are very wrong. Players/recruits play to win, they don’t want to suck. But they are not committed to a university that cans the coach they loved.

Maybe he can build something good at Augustana much like Hastings did at Minnesota State, but I see more and more the only way to get in the tourney through that league could be winning the league tourney.  
St. Thomas moving to the NCHC and their recruiting possibilities is only going to make it more difficult.  When the NCHC doesn’t have an off year like this year, the road may be harder.  More paths to the tourney through the NCHC, but who knows, maybe he is happy with the security at Augustana, because no doubt there would be much more pressure here.

 Don’t know any competitive guy though that isn’t confident and thrives under pressure if they are in position to win the ultimate prize.

I was under the impression that the locker room was divided because of some of the issues, which would mean not all were in step lock.
