Perron's production for us was mostly on the power play, he's honestly better suited for the Big Ten.

Boisvert staying would probably mean no Josephson. Could turn into a Miller for Gaarder swap in a few years. Fingers crossed.

I really like Josephson, and once he and his linemates start to gain some chemistry, we will have even more scoring depth. Hopefully he and Kernan get their first goals against Minnesota.  I’m sure being a Maple Grove kid, Kernan would love that.

He said during the NCHC Award Ceremony last spring that he wanted to have his name on the wall with other UND greats. One week later *poof* into the transfer portal.

From what I have heard about him off of the ice, he probably is not a good fit for this program and where we want it to go.

Crazy to see that Michigan has scored 26 goals this season in only 4 games, but somehow Perron only has one assist so far (and even that was a secondary assist).
I'm sure he'll get his points, but with very similar TOI to the other forwards on that team, he's falling behind quickly.

Agreed on Sacha...that one is still annoying.  He would've had a monster year.  Top 3 centers of Boisvert/Reschny/Rickwood?  Damn.
Not sure who on the team wouldn't have come in though if he would have stayed.

Either way...still hoping that we take out both Michigan and BU in the NCAA's this year.  :)

We wouldn’t have landed Rickwood. At the time we got him, we didn’t have a top 6 center at all. He mentioned that he and his agent recognized how big of a role he would get if he came here.

Sort of sucks not having Boisvert due to his elite shooting. But at the same time, this team’s identity (or what it seems to be after 2 games) might not be built for someone with prima donna tendencies.

to me, he reminds me of a Jordan Kawaguchi type player.  Except Guch had a slightly better shot and Mac is a slightly better passer.
But I imagine that their progression will be similar.

They had very similar stat lines their FR years at UND (Guch had 5-14--19 and Mac 2-16--18).
Guch had a good SO season (26pts) and then exploded his JR/SR years.

bingo...very much thought of Jordan...came in with hype and took a few years and then was a top level player....hope Mac keeps progressing!

Kawaguchi was much older though when he first came in, so he had even more  time to be physically ready for the college game.

There a new hockey podcast on YouTube. I’m not sharing the link as I don’t have it anymore lol, but it’s very much bias towards hockey east. They only named two NCHC teams and didn’t mention the UND/Gophers series at all in their games to watch segment.

Thanks!

I should have put a "/s" at the end.  Bob Norton was a regular on the old ESPN Selection Shows and was from out east and hardly talked about a single program outside of Boston.  His accent was thickah than Jewwy's I think.

I like this quote from his Mom (highlighted for emphasis).

Good catch. He definitely has a grounded family that isn’t concerned with him making it to the show as fast as possible

I think Jordan needed time for the game to slow down just a little for him.  His decision making with the puck took a big jump.

The scary ones are those true freshmen who come in and the game is slowed down already.
Methinks we have at least one of those on this roster.

Wow, what a great story from the Schloss we all love and hopefully appreciate.  Keaton's mom's comment about attending the game and loving the town and atmosphere make me so proud and appreciative of being a part of it all.  Hopefully the team can make a splash this weekend and catch the attention of other recruits who might be considering UND.
