Since we've gotten off track with the discussion of cashless transactions, I'll pile on.

When we were in Nashville for the PSU game, my dad left his credit card stuck in the machine at one of Bridgestone vendor booths.  He didn't realize it until we were at a bar later that night.

We walked back over to Bridgestone and were able to find a gate where security would let us in and sent us to a lost and found room.  We told them what had happened, and they guy walked into a back room and came back with a large box that had, at a minimum, 300 debit and credit cards in it.  He said, "these are from tonight, let's have a look."  We found it in there.

Quite a story.  Did he say how many of those were eaten by that or other atm machines in the rink?   Your dad had a successful transaction?

That's why tap-to-pay is better.  Either tapping your card, phone or watch.  The card never leaves your hand, so you never leave it anywhere.

Dad got his hot dog and soda.  I know they were consumed.  No idea how many cards were.

When Robson opened, they announced a cashless experience. My guess is, they weren’t the first and probably won’t be the last. I’d like it if cash were still an option but it isn’t and it isn’t going to change anytime soon. It’s probably more about speed and efficiency for the concession workers to get through the customers standing in line. I do my part to help them by buying my Mike & Ike’s and Lemonheads at Walgreens before the game.

I am pretty optimistic about this season. In this case change was good. Any predictions about how far we go? I say at least to the regional finals.

I'm waiting for everyone to finalize their rosters, but I have an idea where I think everyone finishes.

James-Reschny-Menghini
Swanson-Rickwood-Zellers
Strinden-Littler-Zakreski
Croal-Kernan-Klee

Ex - Young, Andrew

The lower lines are a bit tougher with all the freshmen...I'm guessing they'll want to avoid an all-frosh line for the first half of the season at least.

That 3rd line could be sneaky good and scary for other teams to match.

Really really really hoping this new staff can get Swanson off the milk carton because he was a shell of his potential last year.

I say this in the nicest way possible…menghini is not really a top line player…and I’m not entirely sure James has the offensive IQ to play with Reschny.

To get the most out of Reschny, he’ll need to play with highly offensive/creative players.

I agree about Menghini. I like him as a player but I don’t see him at all as a top line guy.

And that’s why we all keep saying that we need one more high skill forward. Someone to slot into that top line wing spot. A guy like Desnoyers or McQueen would make a huge huge difference.
This team is still a tourney team regardless IMO. But adding another skilled wing could make them truly dangerous.

Yeah with the players we have right now I have Menghini on my 3rd line and Strinden over him. All of Strinden’s goals were even strength (7) or shorthanded (1). Still not a super offensive guy but he might be a hair better than Menghini. But we all know a high end winger coming for somewhere on the earth is what we need the most.

Someone explain to me why Swanson Reschney Zellers isn't the obvious way to go for a top line...

All of them have a ton of potential and will probably have awesome college seasons this year, but they still have yet to prove themselves at this level, Swanson included. Lack of size could play a factor unless Reschny and Zellers prove they can forecheck heavy because Swanson hasn’t proven that yet.

Oshie  played heavy from the get go.  Trupp was a very good forechecker, but I don’t recall how long it took for him to get there.

About 9 seconds. It was there from the start.

James-Rickwood-Menghini

Strinden-Reschny-Zellers

Swanson-Littler-Zakreski

same.

Swanson needs to prove himself. Top line matches best line of opposition. Reschny and Zellers cook. Strinden has a good mix of everything. I believe Strinden breaks out this year.

Jax will have this team tilting the ice all year. That’s the expectation anyways.

100%
I still remember his diving back check to break up a Manitoba breakaway in his FR season exhibition game. Kid was a 200ft player from the first drop of the puck.

I don’t feel we should be limiting ourselves. Do whatever it takes to find someone or something to run with Reschny. Should have a hell of a sales pitch.
