I understand your point, is WMU an anomaly to your design?  I see Bump as high end, but the rest?

Would be nice if Zellers could be impactful like Bump next year; asking a lot for a freshman though. Would be ideal to have at least a couple of high scorers in case of injury; when Berg went down last year for an extended time a young Boisvert had to shoulder a lot of the offense.

Hearing GM announced today or tomorrow.

That's great, where did you hear that?

The dreaded “someone  close the program” told me.  Not able to disclose but it’s someone that would know.

I'd move on Spicer and Jack Smith if I was Jackson. Both played center in NCHC. They are going to be as good as it gets for Center via the portal it appears. Pencil those in as your 3rd / 4th line Centers. Bring in two of Schultz, Simpson, O'Neill. One more Portal forward (JR / SR) and one high-end CHL.

Agreed on Spicer and Smith.  You know they both are up to speed on NCHC play...rather than grabbing a center from AHA that put up more points but isn't used to how much less space there is in the NCHC.  Neither put up a ton of points but IIRC Spicer was playing 1st line (or 2nd?) center for UMD before he left with his academic issues.

Source?

Everyone.  ;)

He needs to hit the ground running.
Build up the roster for this fall and then get working on the next 2-3 years of recruits as well.

UND pick up anyone from portal yet?

Or do they wait until WMU texts them...."Go ahead we are done".

You know, aside from the head coach getting fired, a rapid search and hire of a new head coach, and three of our better players entering the portal...the rest of this offseason has been a total snoozer.

C'mon Jax...entertain us!!

Schloss said last month they're working on finalizing a commitment from a middle tier OHLer. Really interested to see who it is since I follow the O fairly closely & then do a further deep dive

Wonder if that’s fizzled. Jackson doesn’t want Ontario kids

My best guess. UND brings in:

FWD: Zellers, Klee, Zakreski, Schultz, 1 CHL, 2 1-year transfers, 2 multi-year transfers

DEF: Laurila, maybe Lindberg

G: Heil or transfer. Maybe both if Hobie leaves.

Also, haven’t seen anything concrete but I thought that they extended the deadline to opt into the house settlement so if that is the case, I wonder if UND reconsiders when they know the full terms. That would determine if you can bring in an extra D for insurance (Zmolek). Also wonder if they go 14 F, 9 D.

Could also be an American in OHL territory. Though I do wonder if it fell through also since we have not heard anything.

I'm getting concerned with how long this is taking.

Most of the guys who have committed knew where they were going when they went in. I imagine North Dakota couldn’t tamper with guys when you had uncertainty at head coach. They’ll find solid options in the weeks ahead

Does Chyzyk also have scouting information on players in the CHL, or is his knowledge currently limited to US h.s & USHL players? I read Schlossman's article on him & it didn't specify.

He's Canadian, so he has connections in both countries.

Chyzyk knows all the top plays all the way down to 12 years old.
