The first chart is actually labeled as such while the second chart shows where their bench is. The bench would be at the end where you defend twice. If Western gets the Wild bench as suggested by the box office then UND would shoot twice at the section 123 end. I'm guessing there will be plenty of seats if you want to move around. Quote

We had to score a late extra attacker goal to tie it. At 5x5, we are outclassed by Western. But it's hockey so that means we have a fighting chance. I'm giving us a 20% chance of winning. Quote

Just the fact that we are able to ask that question seems like a win. I hope you get to ask what the odds are we win the next game to keep the season alive 4 more times. Honestly, let's just not get embarrassed. I hate to see any Sioux Hockey season end but to lose in embarrassing fashion to end our season in the conference tournament (not NCAA tournament) would likely have me popping into the Fire Berry thread for the first time since the Xmas break. Having said that, I am under no illusion that we should be expected to win vs Western. Quote

If they decide to play a "full 30", then people will have the right to raise some serious questions about the direction of the program. I'm just hoping we put the guys on the ice that give UND the best chance to win. 6 Quote

The problem with this team is that even when they are playing hard, they aren't always playing smart. They can get badly out of position or they can struggle mightily to pass through the neutral zone. It's often not an issue of effort as it's an issue of being outcoached or outsmarted. The phrase "who wants it more" doesn't always apply because we need it and probably want it more this weekend but that may not be enough. Not sure what anyone else thinks but that seems to be my viewpoint. 3 3 Quote

siouxfaninseattle Posted March 19 Posted March 19 This game is kinda like buying a lottery ticket - you hope to win but don't expect to win. Quote

Superstition, don't want to jinx it. I will say I have guarded optimism about this game and the tournament. UND can win. They have the players that are capable. If they play inspired, confidant, and responsible. THEY WILL WIN! 2 Quote

Popular Post brianvf Posted March 20 Popular Post Posted March 20 https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/und-hoping-to-get-past-semifinal-hex-at-the-x Quote The semifinal game has been a hex. UND is 1-7 in semifinal games played in the Twin Cities — 1-3 in the Target Center and 0-4 in Xcel Energy Center — during the NCHC era. Gonna need to break that hex if they want their season to continue. Their semifinal record is similar to their NCAA first round record lately. 6 Quote
