Guess I overlooked my home quarterfinal series tickets. Those are going to be worth a fair amount since the gophers will almost certainly get placed in Fargo. So nice of us to keep hosting for them Quote
SIOUXELEVENS Posted February 15 Posted February 15 It’s a good thing Berry and co were going to focus on the NCAA’s this year and not so much on the Penrose , so now we won’t be in the running for either. #culture so many firsts under Berry and not good ones. His teams never show up for big games, last night was a big game and we looked lost most of the game. Third time in nine years we will be on the road for the first round of the first round and will miss the final Nchc tourney at the X. Chaves can’t be oblivious to all these factors. Quote
SIOUXELEVENS Posted February 15 Posted February 15 So rewatching last nights broadcast and Alex was going on about both teams having 13 draft picks, how come Denver is so much better then us? Faster, better passing , way better team D. They were all over us and we looked slow and confused. All things coaching can change. Carle gets the most of his players and are players regress under Berry. I don’t believe it’s a talent thing it’s attitude and systems holding us back. UND where good players come to play worse. Speed kills ! 1 Quote

I think Chaves is well aware of this - It's just that he doesn't care. He embraces mediocrity - just look at the state of our whole Athletic Program. When changes are finally made he needs to be at the top of the list. 2 Quote

I would expect he cares, but for some reason does not act. But as lightly interested fan, perhaps things are going on behind the scenes. Didn't Bubba replacement come with very little advance warning? 1 Quote

Speed kills ! I was at the game last night sitting behind DU goalie for two periods. DU was all over us and there didn't seem to be anything we were capable of doing about it. DU fan next to me said DU backup goalie is not good, so maybe we can muster up a goal Saturday night, but I don't think there is any chance of a win. This team is just not good. If a bunch of these guys leave, it would be a blessing. Bubba Schweigert was at the game looking very relaxed. Quote

Speed kills ! It’s the Chicago sports phenomenon. The Cubs have never had to win because they fill the stands anyway. Fans buy “wait ‘til next year.” The Ralph will be full whether or not North Dakota wins. I’m a DU season ticket holder since 2017, so have seen UND visit Magness many times. The Sioux/Hawks played hard last night. It wasn’t a weak effort. Your team gave it everything they had. Maybe they came out a bit flat, but I thought North Dakota dominated the second period. Denver’s defense was just too much. Not many good chances. I don’t know much about Berry, but have seen heard the negative comments from people I know in GF. Whether or not he’s the problem, teams have to shake things up from time to time, and your team needs fresh leadership. There’s no doubt about that. It’s obvious. What I saw last night was a North Dakota team with talent that played hard. They have lost confidence, and confidence grows with success. 1 Quote
AJS Posted February 15 Posted February 15 11 hours ago, Wilbur said: No kidding....27-8-9 is really a line? We want 9 to transfer? This coaching staffs lack of foresight is so frightening. This is a lost year, with a bad Senior class (besides Berg). The 4th line should be 27-8-15. Kunz should be on the 3rd line. Take 15/29/8/27 off the power play. Not only is having 15 play in the top 6 / PP / PK a detriment this year, but does nothing for the future. Why I’m picking on 15, is it’s so frustrating to watch a bust from the portal come in and given and treated like he’s an all-timer that’s just on a slump. Berry’s quote about James was telling. How he finally “earned” power play time. What has 15 ever done to “earn“ pp time? This coaching staff is a complete joke. They should be selling hope for the future, putting players that can come back in the best situations possible. 1 Quote

Maybe not plural but it’s damn near a decade ago. Quote

Popular Post AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted February 15 Popular Post Posted February 15 Berry loves the program and is close with lots of alumni. He may have a financial incentive to stay through the end of his contract, but stepping aside with grace focused on minimizing the impact will go a long way to keeping the memory of his tenure how he ended the drought (rather than the business suits being overused, destination game busts, wasted hosted regionals, recruiting misses, trademark scandal, and more). I trust he will do the right thing. 1 4 Quote
TwamleyShuffle Posted February 15 Posted February 15 I do want to point out how our entire d core is freshmen and sophomore players. The only issue is they could portal out before we get to take advantage of their development. Really concerned we might lose some of our top players to the portal this year Quote

Wilbur Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 I forsee a mass exodus. We will lose some top end guys as well as addition by subtraction. For sure 29, 27, 8, 15, 14, 35 are gone. One of those hurts. Whoever the staff is needs to have tough conversations with guys that aren't NCHC level players. I can't imagine some of the current juniors are on the team next year if Berry gets booted. James likely signs IMHO. 1 Quote
