Wilbur Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I'd assume almost a home type atmosphere at Mullett Arena for UND. A lot of retired ND fans live down there and have season tickets to Sun Devils hockey. This weekend their tickets really pay off for them. Big weekend for the team. Sitting at #21 in the all important PWR. Two wins would be fantastic, but being more in reality 4 points would be ideal. TJ playing his former team, I see him having a fantastic weekend in the net. 1 Quote
SIOUXELEVENS Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Not impressed watching Cornell last night, how did we get swept by that team I think there will be a sweep just not sure which way. Quote
hockeytherapy13 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I think if we played Cornell in December we would have swept them. Woulda coulda shoulda. Getting swept by them combined with the loss and tie to Bemidji are the reasons we have very minimal wiggle room in the 2nd half. Quote
fightingsioux4life Posted January 5 Posted January 5 It's put up or shut up time. Berry is definitely coaching for a contract extension. 1 Quote
brianvf Posted January 5 Posted January 5 https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2025/01/05_Arizona-State-Keeps-the-Good.php Quote When Arizona State burst Denver's bubble six weeks ago, winning 3-2 at Magness Arena to snap the Pioneers' 12-game winning streak to start the season, it was a big deal. But coach Greg Powers said, at the time, that he wanted his program to get used to those kind of big wins. The next night, ASU completed a sweep. It hasn't lost since. Two wins against Minnesota Duluth, a pair of exhibition wins against the U.S. Under-18 team, and this past weekend's tournament championship at the Desert Classic, the still relatively new tournament it hosts at Mullett Arena. Quote As it stands, Arizona State is No. 15 in the Pairwise. The streak has brought ASU from 3-7-1 to 10-7-1. Arizona State has gotten mostly fully healthy. The only one still missing from the lineup is perhaps their most talented offensive player, Cruz Lucius, who they are hoping to get back next week. 1 Quote

brianvf Posted January 6 Posted January 6 15 minutes ago, fightingsioux4life said: That won't help us that much. If we could stick to the old adage of split on the road, sweep at home for the remaining NCHC schedule, that would set us up pretty well for the NCHC and PWR. That would put us at 12-4 for the remaining 16 games, which is pretty optimistic with how the 1st half went. Quote
tnt Posted January 6 Posted January 6 If Berry were to go 0-3 against Arizona State, a team that still has their club coach, that would almost seal the need to win the conference title to get to the regional. Quote

We should not expect a sweep in our favor this series and ASU should not be looked at as an inferior opponent. Overall they are just as good and might be better than we are. ASU has been on fire as of late (took it to Denver IN Denver) and they have high end skill. I’ll be happy with a split because I think we’ll be hanging on for dear life in our D zone all weekend. 1 Quote

Miami? 1 Quote

Esoteric Posted January 6 Posted January 6 It is expected to be only 63° to 65° here Thursday through Sunday. Should help with the ice staying stable. That is a drop of 15° of 80’s this past week. Quote

burd Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Ironic that the game is being played in the Land of the Olds, but some (many?) of us won’t stay up long enough to watch the whole game. Not that anyone here would admit to being THAT old. Quote
