The two FCS blogger guys point to the SOS for UND as the determining factor.  Both also mentioned the committee wanting the "best teams" in the playoff.  

IDK, I'm old enough to remember 6-5 Western Illinois getting in over 7-4 us when we were playing really well.  Anything is possible, but you can't lose too much sleep if they don't get in.

Shows how bad he was.  And he was bad….but I know St John’s is the pinnacle

I believe feeney was the better qb last year and would have been this year as well.  
 

in all fairness.. im happy he didn’t play for us last year.. likely would have gone 7-5.. made the playoffs and we would still have bubba.  It was time for a change and feeney not playing helped it happen in my book.

I agree with/about Eric....what he did with the defense this year was remarkable...BUT with all his connections across the country he felt compelled to bring back Ike and the stitcher?

Of we dont get in, I don't anyone will say we got screwed.  However there are some people like Herder who do think we get in. That said, anytime we've been this far on the end of the bubble....its always popped. History tells us that will be  the same again tomorrow

The most frustrating season I can remember - and in a world where Mussman and Bubba walked the earth that is saying something - We pissed away every game we lost - the OC learned nothing this season and  the HC let him go on - We are not winners - The QB and offense regressed  - Our program is a joke and has been for a long while - We need to clean house and start again - it has nothing to do with getting more players in - we had the talent to win every game yet went 0-5 in game against tough teams and which we should have won.

This should be on the HC  - he let the OC call the same stupid ass game that he did at the beginning of the season - absolutely coaching malpractice and this cost us big time.

UND needs a QB coach, plus Eric will want his guy in the OC spot. If we don’t elevate Gordy he will be scalped by a former bison coach. Seems like the likely change coming.

I agree. The opposing coaches had enough tape this late in the season on the new regime to dissect and interrupt. Und coaches didn’t change ….at all!  That’s the way it’s been since und has moved up to D1.  Opposing coaches catch on …und coaches don’t 

I also agree on your first post that the talent is here already. The FCS is such a joke that the talent und has currently…they are capable of being one of the last four teams standing. On the offensive side I don’t think the OL was anything special but in the fcs they are average enough to make a difference.  With an offensive roster that consists of kaminski, sawyer, Deng, Fleming, Z, Langama,Tai ….etc …that is more than enough talent at the FCS level. With the D that und had this year ….there is no reason they couldn’t make a run in the fcs. It’s all on the coaches. The regression on the offensive side…it’s all on.the OC !  He is not capable of change when opposing teams sniffed out his four plays.     

i believe Schmidt is much much better than bubba but I will need to see results first before I can confidently say that.  A 7-5 season combined with another late season drop doesn’t feel me with any confidence

Or I could be mr positive and say they will make the bracket today and should win their way to the semis or Championship in the watered down fcs.  If that happens ….great!   

The fcs is the Dakotas and Montanas.  That’s it!  Und is 0-4 this year vs that group.  The champion has come from come from this region and will continue to come from this region as the “stronger” teams keep moving up.  The last five years the championship game has been an all Dakota / Montana game. When will it be unds turn?
