7-5 - Bubba Ball 2.0

Bubba was worse … but 7-5 is not acceptable. Can’t go 0-3 vs other Dakota Schools. Can’t lose more than 1 FCS game per year … this is sh*t

need better players and better coaches … surprise, surprise

I was once in favor of playing $hitty nonconference games instead of good teams (FBS, the Montanas) right away.

With the way the FCS is now though, I think you play as many FBS teams that will schedule you, and the Grizz or the Cats if they'll schedule you too.  I'd honestly prefer to start 0-4 playing four FBS teams than Valpo, Drake, fill in the directional school or two.

The little devil on my shoulder that likes to disagree with everything I believe (not my wife surprisingly) says on a day like today, "If you schedule Tennessee State and The Citadel instead of K-State and Montana you are 9-3 and probably ranked in the playoffs, or have a home playoff game."

Or you don't blow it to a team playing with their 3rd QB....IDK...

The goal is to win playoff games and it shouldn't matter how we get into it. Im of the though win as many games even if they are !@#$ teams.

A day like today makes me lean back towards that.  I mean look at NDSU's 4 non-con games.  They'd beat them all with their walk on scout team players.

I can only take so much of Valpo and Drake though....

I dont like playing tough teams to start the season doesn't really help us. Play bad teams get those extra wins and call it a day. Only down side is we dont get an extra 700k to get beat up on which is hard on the program.

Technically the program went from 5-7 to 7-5. That is an improvement but it is not the standard. UND football needs to be competing with ag college every year, so #1 and nattys is the standard now.

**I expect a big jump from year 1 to year 2 with at least 9 wins. LGH

Yes.  If anyone thinks Schmidt is Bubba 2.0, they are wrong.  Bubba would have lost to SUI for sure and got blown out by all the teams we lost to by one score.

Was UND better at the beginning or  the end of the year? If better at the start? How does that change?

Beginning of the year we were attacking on offense, YSU and Southern Illinois’s wins were impressive, after those games it seemed the offense was not as dynamic/diverse in the pass or run game. No Z hurt a lot because because how he finishes games with his runs, Brunelle is not a Z yet.

Considering who we had back and new everything this season went better than I thought, but finishing close games need to be fixed ASAP. Winning needs to be a habit for this program.

These type of seasons/games are not good for my blood pressure.
