Feel awful for Z.

Brunnell and Langama have looked good. Hopefully they’re ready for bigger roles!

Have they said anything? Broken collarbone?

Ziebarth out for "about a month" per Tom Miller article just posted on the Herald website.

Langama can play in 3 more games left to keep his red-shirt. Depending on Z's timeline, save him for the 3 Dakota schools. Shouldn't need him for ISU-B or Murray St.

Month out is vary fortunate for a collarbone injury.

4 weeks is bare minimum typically for collarbone fracture. Typically physicians don't even want them to do any rehab or upper body strength during those 4 weeks. So typically 6-8 weeks. Now being a college athlete and going through sport specialty orthopedics, they can monitor the healing process much more closely with more appointments to be able to be aggressive, but I'm still thinking 4 weeks is doubtful

I hope the coaching staff is thinking this also.  Use Colton Brunell as the third RB vs ISU-B and Murry St.

Is a first round bye still possible for us if we run the table?

Playoff committee has us at #8 right now, which would be a 1st round bye.  So run the table would mean 1st round bye for sure.  I think 1 loss we would still have a chance, since that would mean a win over the current 1st or 2nd ranked team.

It seems to be what Schmidt is thinking. Also a bonus that playoff games don't count towards the 4 games anymore, though Z would hopefully be back by then.

True freshman running back Charles Langama of Maple Grove saw his most extensive action of his career against SIU.

"We feel like we're pretty deep there," Schmidt said. "We've been waiting to use Chuck all year long. We really wanted to protect him (in playing four games and maintaining a redshirt season). We want it to be meaningful if we're going to use his true freshmen year here. We'd still want to keep him to four games, but I think Colton Brunell and the emergence of Sawyer (Seidl) ... we think (Seidl) can be an every-down back. Then (Xavier Leigh) has got to be a guy here who can step up and get some tough yards in between the tackles, as well.

Run the table would almost guarantee the #1 seed.

Won't go that far.  Our 2 losses would not get us above an undefeated Montana or Tarleton team.  The others ahead of us I think would be jump.

I just hope Gavin snaps don't go to Sawyer. (unless we are in a tight game and absolutely need to).  We need to keep him fresh.
