The entire athletic department has been playing catch up since the decision in 2003.  This fall when everything is complete with the Hyslop at Memorial Village, Nodak Insurance Company Sports Performance Center and Field House Memorial Village.  UND will be on even ground with the peer Dakota schools.

you can have all the facilites in the world but if you don't have the right coaches.....your f'd

The rumor mill is really churning ... I heard Elijah Grady is poised for a comeback.

could be a millionaire right now....but probably not.

With the NFL schedules coming out tomorrow, had me thinking when we will see the home football kickoff times for 2025 announced. Last year it was announced May 3rd. Hoping for at least one 6pm kickoff time like they did last year for the home opener.

It looks like UND left some money on the table with the FBS/A4 Games this year:

Other Dakota FCS/FBS A4 Games

North Dakota at Kansas State $475,000

South Dakota at Iowa State  $575,000

Other Peer Schools:

Youngstown State at Michigan State $725,000

Montana State at Oregon $680,000

Idaho at Washington State $625,000

Weber State at Arizona $625,000

So what is the roster limit for the 2025 season and how do walk ons factor into that? I did some quick subtraction and recent additions since spring ball and landed at 111 total players.

UND hasen't opted in yet.  There isn't a limit for schools that don't opt in.

On the rent.......is this privately owned?  A discount would be nice but it's a lot to ask individuals/partners to give up $19,200/year in revenue when the reality is they are likely operating near break-even given the high cost of construction the past 3-4 years.

Where is their office?  Doesn't UND already rent out the entire first floor?  Curious if they are mixed in with the athletic department offices there?

Chavez is a master negotiator

After a few discussions with people I respect, and months/years of introspection, I’ve come to the opposite conclusion. New (and better) AD, please…

I’d be fine with Bubba taking over that spot. Good things happened back in the day when Roger Thomas went from FB HC to AD (minus the decision to not go to D1 along with xDSUs).

This would require actual support from UND, not just lip service …

I don't know him personally, but Josh Morton seems like an ideal candidate--UND football guy, has power 4 experience from his time at Michigan State and knows hockey from his time at UND, MSU and now Augie.

Morty folded like a cheap tenant during a thunderstorm at We Fest when it came to being stripped of Fighting Sioux.......but is clever like a fox.  I could back this.  Bubba is getting up there in age but financially frugal.  Either right now over Cesar Chaves.

On field (and sideline) performance leaves a ton to be desired with Chaves, but if you look at the non game-day stuff, it's clear he's done an incredible job of fundraising and bringing in new facilities to set the teams up for success. Definitely room for improvement still with the soccer field and GameDay basketball experience, but the training facilities are top notch.

I don't think P3 projects should be counted as fundraising and the fundraising for the Pollard addition took forever, and it's way smaller than originally planned.  Happy they got it done, and they were creative, but I strongly disagree that he deserves any credit for fundraising.

How many years has Kansas State been on the schedule vs when the others were scheduled - that might be one reason.

He had very little to do with fundraising
