Yeah this isn't a goalie issue.
Can't score 2 goals in 2 games and expect to win many games.

When was the last even strength goal??

I saw some clueless person on Facebook say it’s a goalie issue because if we had played Hobie last night he wouldn’t have let in any goals. :silly:

We keep seeing the poor passing and turnovers.   Those little backhand flip passes work in practice because the opponent in practice isn’t as good or engaged as game opponents.  Coaches need to reinforce getting it deep and cycling.  We are too impatient,  throwing passes to spots no one is there or two or three defenders in the way.

They’re freshmen…I think we should be looking elsewhere for our issues. Everyone is blaming the coach only. We have a bunch of players that are coming nowhere near their expectations. I mean, not even close. And they’re getting top 6 looks, PP, etc. Plus Boisvert is doing fine; emery isn’t anything close to an offensive dman. If our upperclassmen were even coming close to expectations, we probably wouldn’t be in the awful predicament we’re currently in. Even some sophomores I suppose. The players need to produce at some point.

In saying all that, Bubs has to load the top two lines. Let the skill players play with skill players, grinders play with grinders. There appears to be zero chemistry. Blow up the lines for tonight. Completely load the top 6 and ride them hard.

It used to be 2 scoring lines , a checking line then a fourth  line to eat up minutes. If things weren’t going well they just ran three lines.

Hey now,  be kind to Hobie's mom, she's a nice lady.

I wonder if the beaver goal keeper is giving it a little extra and treating it like an audition to be a portal star in a few years?

BSU goalie is a senior in his last year of eligibility to my knowledge

Who would you play in the top two lines together?

I’ve been hoping for this for a month. Keeping the lines balanced has been one of the issues leading to offense drying up. We have one line that seems to have gelled somewhat but Swanson has been playing the wrong guys all season

Agreed with others above. Balanced lines would have been fine if Berg, Louie, and Croal were healthy. Then have three scoring and one grinder line. But with those three out, load the top 2 lines with offense and the bottom 2 with more defensive mindset.

Pretty sure Schlossman isn’t the one that wrote it so you are criticizing the wrong person. He mentioned who wrote it in his tweet.

or ...

is it completely fair to be pointing out that once again Schloss is taking the company line and pointing at the all too often scapegoat of "hot goalie"....

vs

hey maybe the program has some issues in the fact highly skilled and valued hockey assests are not able to put offense together to overcome another inferior (in the hockey world of valuation) goalie and program.

Think that's very fair to criticism as there's obviously MUCH more amiss than a "hot goalie"

If you want to continue to criticize Schlossman for an article he didn’t write that’s your business but it’s really lame.

My only worry would be if some lines become defensive liabilities? You need some balance.

I can somewhat accept the defensive lapses, even the inconsistency with passing from game to game but the lack of scoring or getting shots on net is really concerning to me. If you can’t score or can only score one goal you aren’t winning very many games at all.

Well assuming the lineup is the same as last night I’d go with the below and ride top 6 hard. Play line 3 when you need to, and the 4 would get 2, maybe 3, shifts per period unless we pull away.

Swanson-Boisvert-Perron

James- Omac- Wilkie

Kunz- Schmaltz-Strinden

Monty- Littler - Andrew

Swanson and Perron are too good to do nothing. Put them together for a while to see if something clicks. Boisvert is the real deal.  That second  should get going too. Again, run them hard.

my gawd I wish we had an emoji for something going right over ones head but I'd doubt you'd be able to figure that out either.

Perhaps you should also look in the mirror when saying that before insinuating that I am too stupid to understand anything.

Wilkie has 3 pts this year. Can anyone explain outside of his transfer status, what he’s done to deserve PP time or top 6 minutes? Transfer status does carry a lot of weight with the coaching staff, so you’re probably right.

At this point you have to keep him there…there’s really no one to replace him with tbh. Just get him off Swansons line.
