It’s easier to state analytics

Harder to know “what should be done”

Anybody who can type can state "what should be done."   And on message boards, everyone "knows."  burd knows this to be true.

They'll reconvene in Grand Forks next week and the Fighting Hawks will see where Berg's lower-body injury is at.

Prior to break, he had not yet skated and was wearing a boot on his foot.

"We're hoping he gets back on the ice when we come back from break," UND coach Brad Berry said. "From there, we'll determine how close he is."

The target is still to have him back for the first regular-series season against Arizona State on Jan. 10-11 in Tempe, Ariz.

"We're shooting for that weekend (Arizona State), but at the end of the day, we'll have to see when we come back from Christmas break," Berry said. "We'll have more clarity on that side."

In 2021, UND was lucky to make it 5 OTs considering Duluth’s first game winning goal was waived off.

In 2022, UND was lucky to make it to OT considering Notre Dame’s last second game winning goal was (again) waived off.

Every team has luck in the playoffs.  Some teams can’t capitalize on it, however.  Some teams don’t.

2020 was very unlucky.  Michigan having to forfeit in 2021 was very unlucky too.

Yes. Perfect example of how every team has luck in the playoffs. BU capitalized on it in 2017.

Unfortunately, when Duluth and Notre Dame’s first game winning goals were waived off in 2021 and 2022, unlike BU, UND failed to capitalize.

Failing to get it done a couple of times could be just bad luck - failure to get it done every year since 2016 is a pattern - and not a good one.  The one constant - Berry

I was just trying to illustrate how unlucky we've been at times.  Agree, didn't capitalize on some second chances but really got the raw end of the deal in the examples I mentioned.  Does Duluth even get to OT had they had to play the night before and are the even playing?  I guess they capitalized on our misfortune.
