sioux rube Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray will visit the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported. It was reported that the Vikings were expected to pursue Murray, who officially became a free agent Wednesday after being released following seven seasons in Arizona. The belief across the NFL is that the 2019 No. 1 pick will likely end up with the Vikings, Schefter adds. Quote

sioux rube Posted March 12 Posted March 12 The Minnesota Vikings are signing quarterback Kyler Murray to a one-year contract, his agent told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport. The agreement includes a no-tag clause. Murray is expected to earn $36.8 million this season, with the Arizona Cardinals paying all but the minimum salary. Quote
Wilbur Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 I mean regardless, Kwesi's drafting cost this team mightily, and you are going to need solid draft classes for the next few years to try and right the ship, all the while not wasting Jefferson's prime years by bringing in band aid free agent fixes. If Kyler wins the job and has one helluva season then they've got QB decision 2.0. Kyler will be 29 when the season starts, and has missed a ton of games with injury, so he'd have to light the world on fire to get a deal. At the same time another desperate team could throw money at Kyler once free agency hits, and desperate teams for QB play make desperate offers at times (Kirk Cousins and the Falcons line one). Quote

Looking forward to what Murray brings in terms of offensive variety along with the current talent. Would have liked to have kept Nailor. Quote
sioux rube Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Let the haters hate 😎 Veteran quarterback Carson Wentzhas agreed to return to the Minnesota Vikings in 2026, the team announced Thursday. He'll sign a new one-year contract, reports NFL Network's "The Insiders." Wentz started five games for the Vikings in 2025 while replacing an injured J.J. McCarthy. He completed 65.1% of his passes for 1,216 yards and six touchdowns against five interceptions, helping Minnesota win two games Quote

Maybe he’ll get some starts this year when 9 is being 9 and Murray is off somewhere playing video games. Quote
petey23 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Funny listening to the Morning Trip guys trying to process the Wentz signing for Minnesota. It took them awhile to talk it through and put it together. My summation and what I thought right away. Murray will be the starter. If the Vikings are winning games and he gets injured while in contention, they will turn to Wentz. If they are losing and he gets injured or plays poorly they will turn to JJ. Quote

IMO It means that they are looking to trade JJ for whatever they can get. Quote

It's a low risk move that doesn't cost them much of anything. 1 Quote

Wilbur Posted 17 hours ago Author Posted 17 hours ago I just can't believe a Kwesi pick wouldn't work out. Guessing Kyler beats out the group then a team needing a QB may use a 7th for JJ.....I mean 9. Quote
Blackheart Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago So essentially the Vikes are going with Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz? Interesting. Quote
