I don’t think they necessarily thought it was the devil, maybe just preferred to watch the votes get put in the machine. Plus it seems it’s easier to count them. The dems have to coordinate the final updates of NV WI & MI at the same time. Then Biden will declare, Trump will go to court in all but there will not be time for justice to actually process. Each state set their own rules for counting votes and deadlines and such, so we knew things like this would happen. If Trump were projected winner, you wouldn't say a word. Its been claimed as illegitimate for 4 years, now its on the other foot. But the conditions of the vote counting can be in no way compared.
