Well, gooney bird.  Of course they think they can.  Most of the positions they have taken are supported by over half of the country.  Things are heading in that direction.  Like it or not.

Now, go back to your bunker and take a nap.  Dream of water cannons and rubber bullets.

you are living in an alternate universe if you think that half of the country thinks like OAC....Hell, half of NEW YORK dosn't think like that overpriced bartender

This is where you have no idea what you are talking about. Of course people support the ideas, what they don't support when you actually look into the details is how to accomplish such things. You know, those pesky little real world details.

I'm gonna take a poll of americans and see who supports everybody getting 10k a year from their employer to take a 2 week Caribbean vacation. Wonder what percentage of people would support that?

You can't disprove they want those things.  All you can do is say it is impossible.  That is a position. I'll give you that.

Now, if actual public servants would get elected, it would be their jobs to come up with solutions or a compromise.

We can't afford it?  Ok.  Then, what would need to change to afford some of it at the least?

Face it.  These things are coming once the right people get elected.  Maybe not all at once, but it will happen.

Remember, nobody can govern from a minority position forever.

Why doesn't the left enact their ideas at the state level in the states they control? Why does it need to be federally imposed on the rest of the country?

I would ask why then would we bother being a union of states?  I think progressives from the North quashed the idea of separation quite a while ago.

But, hey, there are great advantages to remaining a union.  Bit, with that on mind, minority views are just that.  A minority view.  Thats the way it works in representation governance.

Nice job avoiding the question.  Plenty of differing programs and laws by state.  Why can't California just provide free college education, healthcare, maternity leave, and housing to its residents and leave Alabama out of it?

If they did, could they just keep all of their tax money to take care of their own services to their citizens?

California is a net contributor to the federal budget.  Alabama is the opposite.

So, 'Bama may have the Tide, but they would miss out on a lot more.

I'd support removing the cap on SALT deductions, which with the increased state and local taxes to cover all the free stuff, should greatly reduce Californian's contributions to the federal government.  Fair enough?

I think that would be a good start.   I still believe in federal oversight obviously more than you do.

Edit:  I actually think its fair in a sense for some overpayment going to rural flyby states.  After all, goods from one largely populated go to another through those rural states.  Roads and infrastructure need to be maintained.

Isn't this more fun than your usual MO in posting. You're actually presenting an opinion and defending it and it's been 3-4 posts since you insulted someone. Maybe this is a new Hayduke1?

What world do you live in where you actually believe that over half the country supports the green new deal?

Exactly, the only people that endorse this crap is the extreme left-wing of the @dnc. Biden has been playing to this base.

Of course you do. You’re a big government liberal. If you believed in freedom you wouldn’t be for it.

I find it interesting when asking about "green energy". Most folks are for it when that's left as the query.

But ask how much more per month they're willing to pay for "green electricity", the positivity drops.

And ask if they willing to have rolling blackouts at times because baseline demand* can't be met by "green energy" the positivity drops again.

Everything is a great idea in theory, until it has to work in practice.

*See recently in California

It will probably work in the future with new battery storage technology along with less expensive options for wind and solar power.

I honestly, swear to God, wonder why we don't setup nuclear power plants in geographically stable rural areas.

This green new deal the left is paying would be a nightmare. We couldn’t afford it. Socialism is for the people not the socialist.
