I wouldn’t go down that rabbit hole with anyone.  Bubba is a non issue except for those who can’t let it go.
The fact is an FCS HC is a great stepping stone if you get the program turned around. The University, the campus and the new facilities are outstanding. If you are successful in the MVFC you can move up. UND admin is supportive.

Once you have the coach that can get them here, these very "boxes" will keep them here and if/when the coach moves on to a bigger program, they won't regret for a second they choose UND for their NCAA football career.  The UND football players I've known are extremely loyal to UND because of their experience here and it has not always been because of the games they've played.  The point is mute of course when NIL $$ comes a calling.

To be fair to Bubba though, having FINISHED facilities is something he never had. They had one arm tied behind their back the entire time.

Let’s not beat a dead horse. Bubba routinely lost games even when he had more talent than the other team, especially on the road. Not sure how much more successful the new facilities would’ve made him. Still need to be able to make good decisions on game day.

Need a coach that can recruit, but also develop, gameplan, and make adjustments. Also a lot of it is who you know, not what you know - need to put together a better staff. To be honest, especially on the defensive side of the ball, the defensive staff as a whole was not getting the job done at all.

How is it that we all collectively have Jack S#*t for intel - this is just unreal that nobody knows anything.

Ron Mexico taking bets it’s Scmidt - gotta be.

The Magic 8 Ball hasn't produced jack in this whole process either.

Don’t know the full pool of candidates, but gimme Schmidt.

Looked back at Schmidt’s last game at UND in 2019; playoff game lost by UND’s offense, only scored six points. If Schmidt gets the job, I’d like to see all those recent FBS connections be truthful and turned into a big-time new coaching staff here at UND.

We’ll see …

I think it depends on the source. If you get info from a reliable inside source, you let them share it if they wish. Most of them will share only with trusted contacts and allow the University the privilege of informing players first, then the public.

I saw football coaches and Bubba sitting together at the men’s basketball game Saturday night. Must mean something. How bout that for intel!

:)

It means they have each other’s backs and are waiting to see how the coaching choice affects them and their families.

I hit up my friend with an inside source and to see if he'd give a hint, even regarding timing.  He said his guy is tight lipped and not sharing anything.

Do you think they are trying to get the head coach and assistants figured out together before any announcement.

My guess is only the head coach.

If the new coach plans to keep some of the current staff, yes.

No. Working on HC first.

Just an opinion of what I think would be someone's impression.  Football has been rough since Mussman began (16 years ago) as HC and hasn't really improved.

That's hilarious.
