I wonder how DaveK is doing on USCHO right now.

He disappeared last weekend when results didn’t go his way. Hasn’t posted since. Talk about a little *****. It’s one thing to talk smack, but instead of owning it, disappears until results swing back his way. Where you at @DaveK @Roosevelt83 ?

He just wants to be loved.  Is that so wrong?

But they got Oliver Wahlstrom and BU has multiple 1st round draft picks.  Where are those guys that always compare us to them now?

I believe that you can't load up on first-round draft choices and expect to win. You need to have some chemistry and some solid four year players. Also, you need to have guys that do the dirty work, like kill penalties. Check top-line players.  Guys like Rhett Gardner come to mind.

Obviously, you want high-end talent, but you need the role players, too. I think the continuous turnover has finally caught up with them. Look what happened to UND the last couple of season with the early departures.

Best player I’ve seen on their team is Huska when they played the Badgers. Wahlstrom was unnoticeable the whole game.

Starting to get enough games played to see trends emerge re conference strength:

https://www.collegehockeynews.com/reports/standings-interconf.php?s=20182019

NCHC as usual with the best inter-conference winning percentage at .684, which would be hyuge if that continues (6 in the Tourney?)

WCHA much improved so far, at 19-21-3.

Big Ten with a losing record vs both WCHA (4-7-1) and NCHC (4-6-1).   Boosted to over .500 by a large cushion vs the East.

A good start to the season if you're a western college hockey fan.

And that one independent, Arizona State, at 7-3, sits in the (way too early) top 10 of both KRACH and RPI.

Hockey polls released this morning...#1 UMD, # 2 St. Cloud State, #3 Minnesota State....the 'state of hockey' well represented...even minus the 'the big dog'.....Long live the memory of the 'Huffer' who lifted Duluth into collegiate hockey prominence....
