Where are those guys that always compare us to them now? I believe that you can't load up on first-round draft choices and expect to win. You need to have some chemistry and some solid four year players. Also, you need to have guys that do the dirty work, like kill penalties. Check top-line players. Guys like Rhett Gardner come to mind. Obviously, you want high-end talent, but you need the role players, too. I think the continuous turnover has finally caught up with them. WCHA much improved so far, at 19-21-3. Big Ten with a losing record vs both WCHA (4-7-1) and NCHC (4-6-1). Boosted to over .500 by a large cushion vs the East. A good start to the season if you're a western college hockey fan.
