petey23 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 I know, I know. it is far too early for Bracketology, but I am thowing it out there anyway. Top 16 1. SCSU...autobid 2. fightingsioux4life Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Not bad. I do hope we can get into the top 4 and get one of those #1 seeds. 1 Quote
90siouxfan Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Are you just trying to jack the ticket sales with a Sioux - Goofer tilt in SF? Quote
farce poobah Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Denver vs Providence, this time in Bridgeport. Like it. Quote
farce poobah Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 While we are talking Selection, I would like to suggest the following change to process: "Instead of the Committee ranking and placing teams, the Committee stops at ranking them. Then, the Committee places hosts and seeds them. Finally, to fill the bracket, the Committee asks schools where they wish to play." In this example, the Committee first calls St Cloud. Perhaps they choose to play in Sioux Falls OR maybe Motzko wants to be somewhere else. Then, Notre Dame and on down until the #16 seed is placed in the only remaining spot. It would make Selection Sunday way more interesting. 3 Quote

Will be interesting to see how the committee sets the field, with there being 3 "eastern" regionals this year. Quote
GoalieMask Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Said to a buddy the other day - St. Cloud and UND are going to end up in the same regional in Sioux Falls. It would be interesting if it's also U of M and Minnesota State Mankato too. Doubt they will ever do that but hey, it's four teams from three different leagues so who knows? (I'm making the assumption Mankato will actually finish where the 'typical' WCHA champ finishes - about 14 or 15 in PW.) Quote

petey23 Posted January 4, 2018 Author Posted January 4, 2018 Current pairings are pretty cut and dry. Sioux Falls SCSU, UND, Minnesota, and Canisius Allentown Cornell, Denver, Penn State, and Northeastern Worcester Clarkson, Ohio State, Western Michigan, and Boston College Bridgeport Notre Dame, Mankato State, Providence, and Nebraska-Omaha On the Bubble UMD, Miami, Bowling Green, Bucky, NMU, and Colorado College Would have 5 NCHC teams in right now and the other 3 are in the top 21. Emerald joker Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 I don’t think they’re going to let 4 teams from the NCHC be in each one of the regionals, unless that was just a rule for the WCHA Quote

Had to flip Minnesota and WMU to avoid first round conference matchup for both. Everything else just lays out naturally at the moment. NCHC has 1 #1 seed, 2 #2 seeds, 1 #3 and 1 #4. Having 3 teams seeded at 2 and 3 means they have to be in 3 different regionals Quote

I see BC is actually leading in the standings at this point in time. Quote
